and the o line was awful last year too.JG did the same thing last year. One read QB
lolI don't see how anyone can judge how good JG is. The guy has taken some shots not many QB's get up from. You could put Tom Brady as UT's quarterback and it wouldn't make much difference because the O-Line is so bad and blitz protection is still bad as well. I'd like to see some of the complainers take the licks JG has taken and then have the b-lls to take the next pass play snap. These are SEC hits he's taking and he is one tough dude, even if he doesn't work out.
From someone who thinks maybe we should give KC a shot, well said, MV. He IS one tough son of a gun.I don't see how anyone can judge how good JG is. i don't know either. and i'm still not convineced it's because it's a skill he doesn't have or can't get better at. the protection hasn't been, and still isn't great.Unfortunately, he can make the throws, but he doesn't seem to know what to do pre snap nor does he seem to be able to go through progressions. Can that be taught? If not, hopefully Shrout will be ready come 2019.

so, i think you're left with making a decision....does he just lack the ability? or has the staff dumbed things down so he doesn't get killed?
there's not a lot going on pre snap, i don't think he's ever checked out of, or in to another play. to me, it's not that i doubt whether or not he's not making reads...he's not. maybe 2 at best.....and there are a lot of 1 read plays that happen.
what i think is still fuzzy, is the "why"? and that's why i'm not convinced we gain much with KC. cause if it was that JG doesn't have the ability, why wouldn't you put KC in, he's got a ton of experience and has played in offenses similar to this.
so to me that says it wouldn't matter wo the qb is, we'd likely see a lot of the same stuff.
Probably is a combination of both. But given his brief history as qb, he's spent most of that time with a pass rush affecting the play.I noticed JG tends to collapse in the pocket when the defense shows blitz.
He’s more worried about trying to get the ball to his main target instead of trying to avoid taking a sack.
Either JG doesn’t have the confidence in his O-Line or a mental block in his head.
Maybe a mixture of both?

No denying he is tough as nails. He also takes some unnecessary hits by holding it too long or being too slow in his drop. He isn't blameless in this wholeness ordeal. Great college QBs make bad coaches look good. He didn't do that last yr. I guarantee you Tom brady at QB would be producing more in thisoffense than your seeing now. You think brady has always had good OL at Patriots? He gets ball out so fast nobody can touch him.
Can't blame it all on JG but he is part of the issue too. Great QBs can steal games. He just looks like a good QB that needs people around him instead of a guy that makes everyone else better
I've seen him at several practices I've been to. I really don't think he's that good. And I've been standing next to him to hear him complain about practice/drills. I try not to pile on the kid because he's young. But I honestly don't think he'll be anything other than an average game manager type QB.I don't see how anyone can judge how good JG is. 2.49 seconds. Quickest in the NFL to get a pass thrown.Manning 2.51No denying he is tough as nails. He also takes some unnecessary hits by holding it too long or being too slow in his drop. Do you prefer a tough QB or a really good qb? I prefer a really good qb. I don't think toughness is what I want at that position
I'll take your word for it. He may not work out but I don't know many QB's who can take the beating this kid has taken. I wish him the best in whatever the future holds.I've seen him at several practices I've been to. I really don't think he's that good. "I mean, everybody is kind of the same," Crouch told Hickey. "I like Clemson. I like Michigan. I like Tennessee. I like my group of people." He said he hasn't "gotten up with 'Bama yet" to discuss a possible official visit with the Crimson Tide, and if he doesn't end up making a trip to Alabama at some point, he said it's possible Tennessee could get that visit instead. Crouch said he has stayed in contact with first-year Tennessee coach Jeremy Pruitt and tight ends coach Brian Niedermeyer, who's serving as his primary recruiter for the Vols.
"I talk to Coach Pruitt and Coach Niedermeyer all the time," said Crouch, who's ranked the No. 28 overall prospect and No. 2 athlete in the industry-generated 247Sports Composite for the 2019 class. "Honestly, if I don't take a 'Bama visit, then I'll just go to Tennessee."
As for Crouch's tentatively planned official visit to USC, he said it has "been hard for me to get in touch" with the Trojans "because of the time difference" between the Eastern and Pacific time zones. "Last time I talked to them, they mentioned coming for the Notre Dame game, so that might be a game possibility," Crouch said, referring to the Trojans' game on Nov. 24.
Crouch said not all of the teams he's considering have had great seasons so far this year. "Everybody started off kind of slow," he said. "It's like, 'Oh, my God.' Michigan has come on a little bit. But you never know. You and some other guys they recruit could come in and change the program. It might just take time. You've just got to be patient. I'm not going to say I'm used to losing, but I've played at places where you've had to build a foundation."
He said his visit to Clemson on Saturday helped the Tigers "a lot" despite the game being "a little shaky" for them before they rallied late to beat the Orange. He added that he believes Clemson is "going to be good for a long time. Clemson has always been the best atmosphere that I've ever been to, honestly," Crouch said. "But I haven't been to Michigan yet."
