NC St -vs- S Carolina (merged)

South Carolina looked REAL good last night. Phil Steele definately knows what he is talking about.

South Carolina's Defense looked REAL good last night.

Fixed it for you. NC State lost a QB, and was clearly done by the 3rd quarter. I will say it looked like Smelley was a better QB, but then the situation he came into was different.

The situation was different, but Smelley was also alot more accurate in his throws. Beecher's problem was not just the interceptions, but the fact that he was completely off when throwing to receivers who were wide open.

For those of you saying the situation with Smelley was different, I agree. But you could also switch around the situation for Beech as well. He made his first career start in front of 80,000 fans and a national audience and you can't expect him to tear it up.

NC States defense didnt "give up". No Tom O'brien team gives up. The depth showed and they wore down.

For those of you saying you aren't worried about USC this year, I dont blame you but we're actually ahead of where we were last year with the first game and we ended up beating UGA a week later. The defense, if it can stay healthy, will obviously be one of the best in the SEC. Like another poster said, giving up 138 total yards to any D-1 opponent (much less a BCS conference team) is impressive.
