Ncaa: Bryce Brown

While I understand the notion of "institultional control" in that as a coach's employer, the AD and university should be aware of how things are being done (though they can't play baby sitter). However, if a coach leaves a university for another, then said coach should be subject to any repercussions for any inapproprite activities that took place while they were at the previous job. If it turns out (God forbid) that major violations took place while Kiffin was here then he should be punished. I think that giving him a 1-2year ban from contacting recruits would be sufficient.

Honestly, IMHO if the NCAA was smart they would lay low for a couple of years and then start looking into USC's recruiting.

The end result - The Death Penalty for USC.

I actually think it will happen unless Pat Haden is smart enough to fire them now.

Pat Haden will straighten it out. He took the job knowing this was happening and was the investigations would continue. He thinks has can clean it up. I think he will. I hope he does not.:)

im thinking the bb was at the very least clean on the surface. hamilton will probably lose job over this within 6 months if anything improper can be proven. i still think bryce is a good kid and still not 1 bad word(or good) out of his mouth. He's a very introverted kid and basically came for the coaching staff and got left behind

He came for the coaching staff yet wanted to stay at UT after they left according to Poole. His parents pushed him to go elsewhere. I really think his parents were scared that he would play sparingly with Poole over the next 1-2 years like he did with Hardesty and they want him to be the main guy. I believe Kiffin sold them on the fact he was going to be the main RB at UT yet Kiffin didn't realize how well Hardesty was going to play nor Poole.

No offense to the OP....:peace:

But if I never heard the names Kiffin and Bryce Brown ever again, it would be much too soon...

Agreed, I think this will all blow over. I doubt that they have anything or we would probably already be hearing something. They investigated him at the beginning of last season before he could even play. If there was anything to be found, it would have been found then.

Seems like Mr. Kitten is probably going to have a NCAA Shadow Team on him for a while though, being OC of the 2004 USC team that got caught paying offensive players, doing the recruiting of both Bush and Lienhardt, hostessGate, and now the Bryce Brown Scandal...

Karma sure is a b!+(#... LOL:neener2:

Agreed that this is worthy of discussion, no doubt. I'm speaking in general. Just very sick of seeing/hearing/reading about these guys, wish we could just move along. That's all I was trying to say.

Totally with you.

I would go one step further - I wish we never got here in the first place. Even at the time I said I would have traded BB for some of the big uglies Kiffin let get away.

We should have let this kid go ncaa is on a witch hunt

Kiffhole brought this investigation on--whether or not Brown received his release doesn't have a damn thing to do with it.

Do you really think they are on a witch hunt becuse we didn't release Brown?

Think he meant that Bryce Brown would be less likely to tell all if he got his release.

I don't think there is much to tell. If there is, Bryce Brown would probably get in trouble too.

Most likely an empty threat to get a release.

BB is not going to self-incriminate - if he tries to say that Tennessee did some illegally to get him to come here, he'll never play a college down again

Hmm, they're implying that it could be part of the hostess gate thing as well.

Which means they are guessing going by the fact they have no idea what kind of questions he was asked (outside of the questions he was asked over a year ago) and what his answers to the questions were.

I think BB would tell all he knows with or without a release. Dez Bryant is a perfect example of not telling the truth. If he left out or "forgot" info and it came back later I think they would hit him hard. I think it is an empty threat and glad UT did not release him and denied his appeal.

"The NCAA has asked us not to speak to the specific questions that Bryce was asked about their investigation," Arthur Brown said. "What I will say is that at the time Bryce was being recruited, he was already under investigation by the NCAA.

"So on our part, we and the coaches were hypersensitive and above board and didn't violate rules. We asked questions if we didn't know. He was already under investigation at that time and was cleared."

Doesn't sound like he gave them much.

Sure you did...

… I am behind Kiffin, ... you win with Jimmys and Joes, and if he continues to bring in (and coach-up) star quality recruits, he will have the chance for his OJT…

We might take a slight hit,but its Kiffin and the Ogre they are after! F--- Bryce Brown, whatever he told them would have come out anyway, make him pay for school, kudos to CDD who got caught in the middle. The little p---y should have been man enough to ask for his release. CDD probably would have released him before spring practice, but BB made CDD answer questions all summer about Pdonna's status and then didn't have rocks enough to ask in person,f--king text message!!!! I gotta text for you, you'll be 30 years old before you get out of school you f'n loser!!! GO VOLS,THATS MY 998(THOUGHT I WAS @ 1000,OOOPS) POST HAD TO MAKE IT A GOOD ONE!!!
