This is the one, 1 seed team I'd rather play than any other. Only qualifier is I wish this was our 1st time playing them this year. Played them at their home to a one possession game, now on a neutral floor. I know we lost by 4 but we missed the winning shot and fouled the rebounder that hit 2 FTs with basically game over time wise, to make it look like a 2-possession game. IMO that was a one possession game. I too feel pretty good about this game. One of the reasons is I've noticed certain teams we hit 3s on at a higher clip than others. Texas is one of those teams that I feel our Ladies feel comfortable shooting3s vs their D.Call me crazy but i feel really good about this game...was more hesitant/nervous about the Ohio State game than this one.....
Agreed. He's trying to get in players' heads with this, pure and simple. He'd love for his players to respond with an inner monologue of "That's right! My azz can play hard for 40 minutes, unlike those pansies at Tennessee, and we'll show them on Saturday!" And he'd love for Tennessee players to get it into their heads, "Hey. Does Kim not think we're good enough to play more consecutive minutes? SHOULD I BE PISSED THAT SHE IS CONSTANTLY YANKING ME OUT OF THE GAME?"
He's worried. That much is clear.
Yes! I almost went back and added that he's sending recruits messages. Absolutely agree. I'm sure Vic's not the only coach doing this, either.Agreed.
I also think he’s trying to get in recruits’ heads. Texas and Tennessee are battling for some of the same recruits, so I heard the clip from that angle too.
It’s clear we’re on the way back, and folks are nervous!
I didn’t read that as a shot toProbably one of the dumbest statements I’ve heard from a supposedly top coach. CKC isn’t yanking players out the game in this system when she substitutes. Her philosophy is letting them regroup to go right back in.
Yanking out would mean they’ll sit down for an extending period of time.
Sounds like these coaches starting to get in their feelings because Coach Caldwell doing things they didn’t expect at Tennessee.
Great recruiter. Great personality. Great coaching ability. Unconventional system. At the most historic WBB program of all-time.
