NCAA Open Jobs Thread

Georgia: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart is the primary target for Georgia’s head coaching job.

Looks like Purdue fired everyone EXCEPT the HC

Purdue: Offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach John Shoop, defensive coordinator / defensive ends coach Greg Hudson and defensive tackles coach Rubin Carter will not return in 2015. Keep track of open FBS assistant jobs here.

I hope Purdue doesn't call Butch Jones.:eek:hmy:

Memphis offers their job to Barry Odom, who is also up for the Missouri job

Memphis: Some names to keep an eye on for the Memphis head coaching job include Missouri defensive coordinator Barry Odom and Chattanooga head coach Russ Huesman. Both are former Memphis assistants. UPDATE: The Commercial Appeal reports Odom has been offered the job.

Odum would be a good catch for Memphis.

Wow 3 SECE jobs up and Stoops and possibly Mason will be on hot seat next year

USCe
USCw

Maryland
Central Florida
Illinois- filled Bill Cubit
North Texas
Minnesota-filled Tracy Claeys
Virginia Tech-filled Justin Fuente
Hawaii- filled Nick Rolovich
Missouri
Louisiana-Monroe
Iowa State-filled Matt Campbell
Syracuse
Memphis
Tulane
Toledo
Virginia

Rutgers

I think Mason will be around until the 2017 season. I think there will be a new Vanderbilt Coach in 2018.

I think Randy Shannon would be a better fit with his Miami-South Florida recruiting connections.

Shannon for connections to the area...but Babers can coach

UCF: 247 is reporting that Dino Babers has agreed to be the new head coach at UCF. 247 is reporting that official announcement could come tomorrow. Dan Wolken with USA Today reports that this is not a done deal. Babers had been the “favorite” heading into interviews which took place this weekend. Dino, we were told, interviewed yesterday, others followed today. J Wagner with the Toledo Blade just tweeted that Dino Babers told him the reports “that he is taking UCF job are inaccurate.” Bruce Feldman adds that the report is not true. // Anyone need a drink?

Babers agent should push for the Rutgers job...BIG 10 money and BIG 10 cupcakes. He could get enough talent from New Jersey and Pennsylvania to make waves in that conference.

Iowa St getting Matt Campbell was a coup.

Has the second-most talent in the MAC, couldn't beat Western Michigan at home to go to their title game. I like him but unless he's got some crazy recruiting tricks up his sleeve at a place that is very hard to recruit to, I don't think it ends well. Wish he would've held out for a better job.

Matt Campbell will be fired from Iowa State after the 2019 season IMO. ISU is a hopeless head coaching job.
