I have not looked it up but the low % in the 4th quarter was the reason why the % overall was 29%.They shot a lot of threes when they had a wide-open path for layups but instead passed out for wide-open 3's and did not make any of them.....course my memory is not all that good as a newly branded 86 year old so I welcome correction by anyone .

Your memory is basically right. The 4th quarter was their worst one - shooting only 17% from 3. In contrast, they were 50% (3 for 6) in the first but the fell off to 27% in both the 2 and 3rd quarters. I think it "felt" like a higher % because the LVs hit some timely 3s that really shifted the momentum at pivotal points.

Also, this game followed the ideal CKC blueprint. The Lvs were 10 for 34 from 3 versus OSU's 5-12-- a 15 point differences-- AND the LVs had 17 more total shots overall (and more 2 more 2pt FGs than OSU as well). The only battle that OSU won was a slight edge in FTs. Generating 9 more TOs than OSU is another key stat.

Just a helluva game. Under the circumstances, I think this win was more impressive than even the UConn victory.

Agree. And I see no argument that by crabbing on the refs the ladies will play harder, as no team is playing harder. Players have bought in - maybe us fans can too. I am proud of her and this team, and am optimistic about what she is building.

We are kinda of the Rocky of teams. Take a beating to wear the other team down. Not how you would draw it up but we have done it all season.

If she goes into the portal, that's one that Kim is going to take a hard pass on. Her talent is undeniable but her attitude is unacceptable. Let her be someone else's headache.

Exactly, I said in another post but she seems like an LSU or North Carolina player. Both teams are going to be looking for a small forward with Morrow and Utsby transferring.

There was some earlier post debate about Kim's thinking not calling time outs during the other teams runs. Below is her comment about the OSU run and little insight into her idea about timeouts:

"We knew it (a run) was going to happen, and we have been through that a lot," explained Caldwell. "We’ve been through it countless other games. I told them that I don’t want to have to bail them out with time outs. I want them to just be able to work through it. I did not really realize it was 16-0. I probably should have called a time out. But they good a good job. I think we followed it with maybe a 14-0 run."

Just watched the Ohio state presser and wow, that was not a team in a good mental spot. The players in their post game (Thierry and Greene) seemed almost….relieved? That they lost. Lot of half giggles before and after answers, not what you’d expect from someone who just lost out on the sweet 16.

Don't think that team has been getting along very well. Would expect some transfers.
