Darn USf scored 10

19-10 temple with 3 min before half

...temple missed a big opportunity to blow them out early after that long a scoring drought

other game scores:

33-31 Notre Dame over Xavier at half

KU leads Detroit 29-23 with 3 minutes left in half

MSU pulling away from LIU. 52-42 with 15 min left

Kansas pulls away from Detroit; after a very close, changing lead - now up by 10 at the half; route might be on

Michigan St has safely put away LIU - 76-57 with 7 minutes left

15 minutes left in the 2nd and it's 28-23 USF, having now taken the lead (temple blew it in this game's 1st half)

15 minutes left in the second and Notre Dame has gotten ahead of Xavier 40-33

KU-DET still at half

Watching MSU -v- LIUXYZ on the net (sigh. . . my wife's infinite wisdom on changing our dish package backfired on me) Keeping an eye on Xavier -v- ND. Wishing X would pull their heads out.

was wondering why that game at first, then I realized you're a michigan st fan

...so who do you pull for if your first 2 team icons win out in this region?

Just a guess, but his name isn't SpartanBill.

What I'm guessing, but then again it could also make more sense for him to choose to name himself after the team he cheered for that was closer to this board (in this case, a rival team) when he had one, rather than a team with little to no connection/relation.

(also he chose the Mich St logo first when choosing his team logos it looks like)

Waiting to see what he says though.

It would be a bigger program win for Michigan State, so that is who I would be pulling for. But it would be freaking miserable, no doubt.

If the situations were reversed, and UF was the 1 seed, with a great season in the balance, I would reverse that.

Fortunately, I have not had to make that decision too many times.

I see; so you'd almost consider yourself split down the middle when it comes to that regard.

My dad's kind of like that...so I think I understand where you're coming from there.

about 16 years ago, I was listening to local sports radio in Lansing MI (my hometown). There was a trivia question:
What school did Steve Spurrier attend, and win his heisman trophy?

I called, I said University of Florida, the slappy radio guy said no. . . thats wrong, and went to the next caller. gave a free damn round of golf to the next caller who said DUKE!!!!! I was livid. I called back, ripped the guy, got tossed off the air. called him back the next day, ripped him again. And he is the one that stuck me with GatorBill. I flew under the radar around town for a couple years, but after calling and chatting and getting to know the guy, he was actually very cool, just uneducated!! hahaha. But, through local sports radio, (I have about 4 friends in the biz) and message boarding, the name has stuck with friends, and folks that I worked with who figured out that I had an internet/radio persona.

whew. sorry for the long boring story

Score updates:

with a minute and a half left: Mich St 87, LIU 65

11 min left in the 2nd: USF 39 Temple 27

11 min left in the 2nd: Notre Dame 48 Xavier 41

18 min left in the 2nd half: KU's already up 16 on Detroit and pulling away 42-26. You had to know after seeing Missouri lose, firsthand / in front of them, that they weren't going to go into this game overlooking their opponents.

Temple USF is pretty hard to watch. At halftime, I felt sure that Temple was gonna win, like 40 to 20, they they may lose by a similar score. WTF? How can two teams play so poorly? USF just turned it on in the second half with their shooting, though.

Yeah, very much split down the middle. I was born and raised in Lansing MI. Im a VERY BIG Spartan supporter. I have relatives in Gainesville, and I became a Gator, somewhere around the age of 8-10. Spent a lot of time in Gainesville, visiting relatives, making friends. Went to music camp there in HS. Made some great friends.

Went to UF as a freshman on a music scholly, but drank and skirt chased it away. Went back to MSU and . . . welll. . . . . continued the trend!! hahaha.

Temple failed to take advantage of a like 5-8 min scoreless streak by USF and that cost them big...I havent watched it but don't know what else to say honestly other than both teams just playing poorly

It was essentially a 20 minutes scoring slump. I mean what was their score at half? Like 12? 14?

lol. no problem. interesting to hear.

and to complicate it even more, my kid is at UT. While Im not what most would call a UT Fan, I am pulling for them 100% except when they play Florida, or a rare MSU game.

:good!:

Everything went my way tonight until Temple. I only have them in the sweet 16, but if they lose it will eliminate my advantage of picking Ohio. Most people in my pool had Michigan in the S16.
