NCAAT Game Thread: Lady Vols vs Buffalo/Belmont

I don`t see TN having a problem with Belmont just to much size for Belmont. TN is like SC somewhat not shooting the ball well right now but win the game on the glass and defense.
Too much size! Hell Oregon had Prince, Watson, and Sabally and still couldn’t get it done. Sabally did go off on them though. I think she had like 31.

I’m with you though, I have a feeling we won’t have too much of a problem with Belmont for some reason.

Remember Oregon had too much size and Belmont beat them. We can’t depend on size alone,we must make it a major factor by making outside shots and getting rebounds. We have to jump all over them or this could be lose on our home floor.

Me too, not sure why. My plan is to totally relax and enjoy it tonight. And acknowledge a really nice accomplishment by KJH.

Because I'm afraid there's an absolute hellscape ahead against Louisville and the way-too-immoral-for-us Jeff Walz.

The size difference was even worse in the Oregon game with Prince and Sabally and they still won. I think we have bigger Guards but they need to be aggressive Ala Burrell

The only true rebounder they have is Sabally, Prince to me plays soft most of the time. She stands 6-7 but don`t rebound or block shots like she should.

Did you watch the game? Oregon is slower than Tennessee and don’t defend as good as Tennessee.

Did i watch the game ? Which part of my original post makes you assume i did not watch the game ? Did you read my post ? Also "And dont defend as good " does not make any literal sense. They score better than us and we defend better but they are still bigger so what are you getting at ?

They lined up 6-7,6-5,6-2 and Belmont still banged the glass

My concern is Key guarding the Belmont post player on the perimeter since all their players can shoot the 3. They’ll definitely either bring Key out the paint or shoot the open jumper if she stays in the paint.

That is an astute point. Do we counter with a zone or play straight up man to man? Key can defend on the perimeter just fine, but it nullifies her ability to be rim protector.

Well, Belmont is guard oriented and they can all shoot the 3.

Yes, Creighton plays solidly on defense. But Iowa shot only 35% from the field. Far below their average. Uconn, also a #2 seed like Iowa, played Creighton twice in the Big East. They shot 45% and 50% in their games with Creighton. So it can be done. If Clark shoots better than 4 of 19, Creighton wins.
Again, I believe Creightons defense especially on Clark was the game changer.

I can see Wynn playing a major role next season. She’s an elite athlete.
Unlikely the group of folks that fall in love with every name that enters the portal.. Tennessee has the luxury of developing five tremendous young talents in Wynn, Puckett, Miles, Striplin, and incoming 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐️ cruit’ Justine Pissott. The core returning veteran players of Horston, Key, J. Walker, and Darby provide steady leadership and productivity but newcomer Jasmine Powell former 4⭐⭐⭐⭐️Top 100 cruit’ (picked the Vols over Baylor, Louisville, Alabama,& Ole Miss) is where I see the LVs adding a dynamic dimension to next years team. Powell can flat out go with the rock in her hands!
