NCAAT Game Thread: Lady Vols vs Louisville

lol not at all. we’ve gotten better each year and recruiting is starting to pick up. i don’t wanna see you posting anything next year when we are rolling with jackson and horston.
When we are still turning it over 20 times a game like we have for 10 years lol we got better mid season because we didn't play as tough schedule. Some inexplicable losses, and I mean bad.

This team had every chance in the world to win this game .The same bugaboo that plagued them all year long did it again......they just do not value the basketball ......turnovers and free throw shooting. They gave up 23 points ( easy ) points with live ball turnovers.....game over.

I know it’s frustrating to see 6’6” miss layups but I think she does care and she is what she is. Coach needs to understand that when she is not a factor, then make a change. That can be a quarter by quarter thing.
I disagree. I truly think she doesn't really care.

Spotted the other team 20+ points off turnovers. Happened all year. Coaches have to fix that. Not going to win games that way in spite of how many timeouts you save to call in last 60 seconds. She can’t take them to the next year.

Not the outcome we all hoped for today.

I enjoyed this season immensely. Best Lady Vol season in over a decade for me.

Really looking forward to next season. Hope this group sticks together, with the additions we have a legit team coming back. I feel like Sweet 16 was a great accomplishment for this squad. Elite Eight would have been over achieving for what we are working with at this point in the season.

Love Kellie and this staff, love the direction of the program.

100% agree on all of the above. Bummer of a finish, especially the mental lapses on the turnovers and missed free throws -- BUT -- the fact that this game was absolutely winnable and within reach with a few minutes left in the game against a #1 seed speaks to the toughness of the players and this coaching staff, putting a really strong effort out there without Jordan Horston, for sure our best player and leading scorer, rebounder, and assists and steals (not to mention prior injuries to Marta and Keyen, and Rae not being at 100%).

A really fun season and it genuinely feels like the future is very, very bright.

This team is it’s own worst enemy. We have a few that aren’t nearly as good players as people make them out to be. I know we lost some players but our play at times is down right sloppy. This team needs a reality check. They are struggling in the things that made Tennessee once feared. Clutch shooting great rebounding and passing. Moving and hustling. Relentless defense and a mental toughness. And yes Kellie Harper you need to figure it out. We need a center that can score and handle and pass the ball. That can move. Brigette Gordon would have had a field day against us inside. Now we have players that struggle with 1 footers. Yes it happens but we shoot a bad percentage inside 3 ft and it should not be nowhere near that bad. We for sure have gotten away from recruiting good shooters and ball handlers and our bigs right now are either young or soft. Dye and Wynn will improve. Hopefully our 3 injured will be back. But this team needs to fundamentally get better in all areas and learn how to play smarter. But with all frustration aside if we get our 3 back healthy things do look bright. We got some young players that should be ready and capable of starting or playing early and often. But our passing and lethargic play at times has to be addressed. GBO

I have to admit being really impressed by this UL team. I'll be pulling for them the rest of the Tourny. They are smart, intense, and mean. They can shoot and they are fast. Good ball team; I'm glad we competed.
