ND legit?

Don’t see their defense as elite but they’re a good team. They don’t have any chance vs Ohio State if they show up though. And yes we could’ve beat ND, not saying we would have but it would be close. That Ohio state game has messed with some peoples brains

Yes, they have Volunteer level spirit and are well coached.

Haven't researched, but doubtful that their core will be shopping themselves around in NIL market. Their momma wouldn't approve of disappointing the Pope.

I wish he hadn't said that.
Whoever wins tonight, it will be the first time Notre Dame has faced a quarterback that’s playing well. I think Notre Dame’s defense is legit, but I don’t think Leonard can get into a shootout with an Ohio State or Texas. They’ve played UGA w/ their backup and Drew Allar who didn’t even complete a pass to a wide receiver . Allar completed 53% of his passes in the CFP vs SMU and Boise State. That’s not good. I think Notre Dame had the benefit of playing some teams that were great matchups for them because they could junk up the game and keep it close and benefit from forcing turnovers. Penn State lost that game more than Notre Dame won it. More specifically Drew Allar was awful .

He’s right. They should have won that game last year and OSU is better than Texas. ND won somewhat comfortably against a team Texas couldn’t beat in two tries, and got blown out by the first time. They are no better than us.
They should’ve won that game last year. I think Ohio State is better than last year. I think OSU is better now than they were at Thanksgiving, by a lot. Notre Dame won that game in less than a minute and an inexperienced quarterback wasn’t good enough to overcome a good defense. If Allar throws a decent pass in the flat and they score a touchdown instead of kicking a FG, Penn State wins. I don’t think Notre Dame will have the same luxury of Ewers or Howard missing guys wide open for touchdowns the way Allar did several times last night .

Maybe when a quarterback goes against a pretty good defense he does not do so good..

Maybe. Notre Dame’s defense is really good, but It’s not like Allar played well against Boise and SMU. Gunnar Stockton is definitely not as good as Beck and they scored 17 points in 54 seconds . You’re not going to beat a lot of teams with an implosion like that . Good on Notre Dame, they find ways to win by playing good defense, special teams and coaching around Riley Leonard’s limitations.

No way would the Vols beat ND, would have been out played and out coached. ND is a well disciplined team and very well coached.
And yet they still lost to NIU. The UGA game was lost bc Georgia got away from playing to their defense; got cute at end of first half then allowed a return for a touchdown.

Tennessee played in a hostile, cold environment against probably the best team in the country. Tennessee is a good team just like Oregon is a good team. Notre Dame, and Penn state are both good teams; it won’t matter against Ohio state. A lot of “fans” are overreacting about that loss; Notre Dame will get embarrassed too like Texas is about to.

Drinking heavily I see. I approve.

What has either team done all year to make you think they’re better than us? Notre Dame beat a Georgia team without its starting QB and Penn State beat up on Group of Five caliber teams. Also in terms of talent they're about the same as us so you can't say they're like Ohio State who recruits at a much higher level.

The CFP just had a bad format where all the best teams ended up on one side of the bracket.

They are a good team that got very fortunate with scheduling and Beck being out for UGA.

We are probably in the same situation at ND right now if we had their path.
