ND legit?

As mentioned before, Notre Dame beat seven ranked teams plus a pretty good Georgia Tech and USC.
They beat 4 ranked teams in the regular season. Two of those were service academies, the other team was aTm on a Labor Day weekend and Louisville. They beat an overrated IU team at home in the CFP, they beat UGA w/o Beck and they won last night w/ Drew Allar barely functioning at QB. . They also lost to NIU at home. Those things are all facts. USC was not good, GT was up and down and the rest of the schedule was loaded w/ bad P4 teams like Purdue and Stanford. They’re overachieving bc they are well coached and they’ve been been fortunate enough to have good matchups. They were 2 bad Drew Allar throws away from having their doors blown off last night .

Teams with a strong defense and an adequate passing game can win big games if they have one thing: A QB who can make things happen with his legs.

ND has that. ND has that.

They are for real. They also may get beat by 35. But they are still playing. There are no Cinderellas playing for championships in college football.

What has either team done all year to make you think they’re better than us? Notre Dame beat a Georgia team without its starting QB and Penn State beat up on Group of Five caliber teams. Also in terms of talent they're about the same as us so you can't say they're like Ohio State who recruits at a much higher level.

The CFP just had a bad format where all the best teams ended up on one side of the bracket.
I agree about the bracket. But anyone with eyeballs can see they are both better teams than us.

What he said is fairly plausible. It is the easy side of the bracket, and yes we could have beat any of those teams. Would we? I don't know and neither do you
Definitely the easy side of the bracket no doubt. However I don’t think we beat either of those teams. We just didn’t show the offensive ability all season.

No. Penn State isn’t good either. Penn State is worse than:

Us
Georgia (with Beck)
Texas
Bama
South Carolina
Ole Miss

I think any of those 6 teams would have beat Penn State bad.

Penn State was so one dimensional last night. I doubt they'd have finished the
SEC above .500, or much above it, anyway. Having said that, ND did what it took to win and they have momentum. That counts for something.

Didn't Penn St play Ohio St a helluva lot better than us? But yeah, they suck!

Don’t see their defense as elite but they’re a good team. They don’t have any chance vs Ohio State if they show up though. And yes we could’ve beat ND, not saying we would have but it would be close. That Ohio state game has messed with some peoples brains
Other than a hot OSU team, most of the teams would be close to .500 in a round robin other than SMU and Boise

Were you saying that before the Ohio State game? Or has that beat down clouded your judgment? If Ohio State played those two teams as well that night they would have been blown out too. See Oregon a week later.

Yep. I like this ND team. They've got an edge to them....just like their coach. They might lose, but you'll have to beat them. Did I mention that have a great coaching staff?

Penn State played Ohio State at home. On top of that, the scoreline just wasn't reflective of how dominant Ohio State was. Howard threw a brain-dead pick-six and fumbled the ball on what looked like a sure-fire TD-drive later in the first half. It was 10-0 Penn State mid-way through the first quarter. The rest of the way? 20-3 and it really felt like it could have been worse.

Howard has been on a different plane since the CFP. Hell, the entire Ohio State team has been on a different plane. Compare Ohio State-Oregon in the regular season (a one-point loss for Ohio State) to what they did in the playoff. Oregon looked like a directional-school tune-up for Ohio State. And look, I'd definitely give Penn State the edge in a match-up with them at almost full health and the Vols without Sampson, Thornton, and White. Take Kaytron Allen and Nick Singleton off Penn State's roster, and I guarantee you they get boat-raced by CFP-Ohio State.

Honestly, last few days is really the first time I have spent a good deal of time seeing and listening to Marcus Freeman speak.

As much as I hate the Domers, the guy is really intelligent in terms of being able to convey his thoughts and comes across as extremely likeable.

The polar opposite of CBK really.

ND did not look very good against Penn State, I'll say that. Won without looking very good. I don't think their chances are very good for a natty but of course what I think has no effect.

If you physically whip UGA why would this even be an actual question?
They physically whipped UGA? Georgia got stupid at the end of the half and beginning of the second half. If Georgia leans into their defense that’s a different game. I do think Notre Dame could win and I do think they’re left but I didn’t see physical domination.

Georgia couldn't use it's physicality as a weapon. That's always how they've won under Kirby. Notre Dame was up to the challenge and then some. Sent them Dawgs back to the drawing board.

Both teams looked inept on offense. They were bad. That QB for Penn state looked like a high school QB. ND’s QB also has no shot whatsoever against Ohio State.
Ped State didn't even complete a pass to a WR. I know people think we under utilize our WRs, but that is bonkers for a non-triple option team.

Being ranked means nothing. Vanderbilt clobbered Georgia Tech. Talentwise there's nothing scary about them. Could they beat us? Sure. Florida almost beat us. But they're in the Final only because that side of the bracket was far easier. Give us their path and we're probably in the final too. That's my only argument. I'm not saying we're much better. Just that they're not much better than us either.

The only team that looks a step above us is Ohio State.
A step above us? I think they beat the heck out of us. It’s a giant leap above us. Get real

People laughed at me when I said Notre Dame was he sleeper. I get it. They loss to NIU and people wrote them off. I doubt they beat OSU/Texas winner but who knows
At Thanksgiving I told both my brothers, UGA alumn, that Notre Dame was playing like one of the best teams in the country. They both laughed in my face.
