One of his children, John Walton, donated the most a public university has ever received .. $300 million. Unfortunately the man later died in a plane crash. However, the Walton family still contributes none the less. They all have their own ties with Arkansas.

So now we're sure he does but no proof? The article I read, from Huskers.com nonetheless, said IF he has given money it would have had to have been in the form of an anonymous donation. No one knows. They do know he does not get involved in the raising money for coaches business, he is a regular fan. So just cause he has money, it likely has little bearing on their ability to pay a coach. I'd imagine his giving, if any, goes to the education side much more than athletics.

Not sacred in my nook and cranny. But you are right that they own the state and have very deep pockets.

ha.. Arkansas fans get on my nerves sometimes with their fickleness and dumb@ss opinions. Although thats everywhere (at least in the south), there is no other program in this state to check it really

This thread has given me a case of penis envy. Sure, the Haslams aren't paupers, but they pale in comparison to some of the names being thrown around. We could seriously use one of those mega sugar daddies.

It could be worse. There could be two big programs like Bama/Auburn and the fans could be twice as dumb.

Disagree. I think he is a decent/serviceable coach, but "fantastic"...no. He was made for the Big 10 and if I was him I would run to Nebraska as fast as possible. Not literally as he would not make it very far.
