You know, CFB needs Nebraska to be good again. We need corn-fed OL to run all over fancy-smancy Ohio State like an articulated 4WD tractor and occasionally beat the snot out of Alabama.

There may be a lot to be said for being an average coach in a below average conference.

He'd would have been better here than he would have been at Nebraska. Nebraska has structural problems that I think might prevent them from being a consistently good program ever again. Our problems, however bad they might be, I don't think are structural and are largely self-induced.

Really hard to recruit to Lincoln these days. Frost would’ve been better off going to Florida at the very least he would’ve been able to recruit better.

I agree he would’ve been better in Knoxville or Gainesville or any SEC team than Nebraska. I don’t think Nebraska will ever be elite or even relevant on the national stage again and I really want to see them return to prominence again.

Nebraska's two biggest problems:

1 - their biggest competitive advantage, a modern-day S&C program (or steroids, depending on how cynical you are), has been copied by every program in CFB
2 - poor conference fit

It isn't recruiting or Lincoln's relative location. That was a problem during their glory years, but they overcame it with #1 and didn't have to deal with #2 in those days.
