The wife and I were talking about pulling our 23' runabout (I know, its small compared to some of the boats I see at the Vol Navy) up to Knoxville for a game while the weather is still warm. I have a few questions for anyone that has done this.
1. Where to launch. (Don't want to drive the boat all the way from Huntsville, AL.)
2. Does it cost to dock a smaller vessel and where is that best place to dock?
3. When is the best time to launch to avoid boat traffic?
Any information would be appreciated. I'm not even sure it would be a good idea.
Thanks and GO VOLS!!

My wife and I want to do this as well. We have a similar size boat, v-hull bow rider. Thanks for posting this! Now we have some solid options! Volnation never disappoints!

I'm thinking about trying it for the GS or BYU game. It'll take a bit of planning. I'm coming from Huntsville, so I will trailer up to Knoxville and put in. I just want to launch far enough away to avoid car traffic.

I'd love to get a spot on the inside of one of the docks. That would make it easier to get on/off the boat and cut down on the big Waves.

PRAY!!! and pray harder when you try to leave.

Posted before reading, SORRY. Any "boat" ride to a game would beat a "car" ride any day: rain, shine, hot, cold, leave a day early and fish your way to the "navy yard"..:)

Forgot to mention I'm from Meridianville, so all of the recommendations directly apply to us as well. HA! My wife and I were talking about this the other day, and trying to figure out how we could do it. We may not even be able to this year, but I'll have this thread to look back on.

Sounds like a solid strategy.

Flying in for the BYU game Couple years ago we took the bus from Foothills Mall. What time do they stop loading for a night game.

Since I'm in GA now, and have been for...hmm, 26 years now...I'm a UGA fan 364 days out of the year. You can probably figure out the one Saturday when I'm not. So take this from an "almost fellow Dawg fan"...

Being a native of Tennessee, and with my family line being rooted in the Volunteer State back to (at least) the War of Northern Aggression, let me offer you this friendly piece of advice: If your "Vol Navy friend" suggests a "friendly game of Plank" on the way to the game, politely decline. They are going to make an example out of you.

Stick with I-20. It's safer by far.

Go Vols.

and you were doing well up until this.....

For those with Vol Navy experience, how long does it take to get your boat out after a game?

Assuming you are not the very last/outside boat, do you have to wait on everyone to get across your boat to leave?

I've considered doing the same, but always thought my little tiny baby wimpy 21' boat wouldn't fit in with all of the gigantic yachts and such.View attachment 219180
Nice really nice. Have you taken it to a game yet?

Here is my boat it’s a 19 footer, and I have always wanted to take it to a game but I haven’t had the guts.

I don't know how it is now, but a few years ago, you had better arrive at least by Thursday , mid-afternoon if you don't want to be out in the river/lake.

I have not, I live in Winchester, so it would be a long ride in a bow rider.
I've always wanted to tow it up there and experience the Vol Navy though, bucket list item.
