Needing prayers.

So my dad went to have his eye looked at this morning that he had surgery on awhile back and they dilated his eye and said everything looks normal it's just going to take longer to heal. Then back home today he was taking his mom to the bathroom and all the sudden it went black and he can't see so they called the eye doctor and went back and he looked drained some fluid out of his eye and told them he could have had a stroke to call his primary care doctor tomorrow and he also said he may wake up and be able to see that the eye is weird. Now I am like what's the chance the eye they look at today he can't see out of now and everything he done is fine and it could be a mini stroke or blockage our nothing.

Prayers for your dad.

Thanks . Just eyes I am going to keep a eye on him.
As a compulsive worrywart, I’d still fret about getting him checked out tonight. Losing vision, even if only in one eye, is still a big deal.

But since his ophthalmologist checked him and advised to follow up with the primary care doc and hey, it might magically come back, that makes me think that there isn’t a lot they would or could do tonight. Surgeons are notoriously focused on their own specialties, and pretty responsive to those, even when maybe not so much on other things. In a perfect world, we could take our fears and concerns to the ED at any time and get a thorough workup and optimal treatment, but…

(This from someone who has taken assorted husbands, kids, and pets to emergency rooms only to wait. And wait. And wait. Vomiting on newly-mopped floors does help.)

Let your concern and your head and your gut feelings make the decision. If you do decide to take him in, you might want to call first, letting them know the situation, so that they can be prepared. Good luck to you both. I hope it resolves on its own.

He had heart surgery and it gave him Parkinson. He had eye surgery and now he is blind. I think he is tired of getting messed with.
I can understand that, my Mother had two unsuccessful hip surgeries and they say well it only happens one out of so many thousands, but when that one is you.....and your whole life is changed
because of it, it makes a difference about how you feel about getting procedures done.

Yes. That's what is crazy he just came back from the eye doctor and they said it looked good and then a couple hours later he couldn't see out of it.
Maybe find one that specializes in eye diseases and diabetic I know a couple people that had that happen and it got reversed

They had blood behind the eye both were diabetic then had surgery and the sight came back
He had that done and this eye doctor he has know said they burned his eye and that he removed a layer I am guessing was cataracts and that was the check up he went to the other day and they said it looked good and was just going to take a while to heal then he came home and can't see now.

Just found out no stroke.

1 positive on the non stroke. Have they considered a nerve pressure thing?

His primary care doctor called and no stroke
So I said what's the odds that he goes to the eye doctor and comes home and goes blind in that eye she said that what they did wouldn't cause that and it's a coincidence. I said coincidence!

He has heart surgery and coincidently gets Parkinson and now he has his eye looked at and coincidently is blind now and I am pissed off.

Then my mom got back talking to her and said the only thing that has changed is they double his Parkinson medication and she says well that could be that. I yelled yea coincidently!

I am sorry but I am pissed.

When he went back blind the eye doctor who said 3 hours before that it looked fine pulled 1.3 something of blood and said if it was a stroke that that would be what would damage his eye first so he would be okay.

As you should be. Dad had a shoulder replacement surgery in April (yes, the morons suggested this at his age). They almost lost him due to the anesthesia and he ended up being paralyzed in his dominant arm. Mom has contacted a lawyer.

It makes you so mad. And I just want to hit someone.
When I get that way which is pretty often here lately., I sit outside, listen to my playlist and look at the sky. Blue sky with a few cumulus. Sometimes, I just look and figure out what the images remind me of or I rail at them in my mind at the situation. Clouds tell no secrets.

Edit: we always seem to go through the same crap, don’t we buddy?
