VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Update: The Terre Haute Firefighter who passed away on the scene of a residential fire on Thursday evening has been identified.

According to a post by the Supporting Heroes organization and confirmed with Glen Hall, David Phelps of the Prairieton Fire Department was found on the scene and has reportedly died of a heart attack.

Phelps has served as a firefighter for over 59 years and was named the 2023 Indiana Volunteer Firefighter of the Year by the Indiana Volunteer Firefighters Association.

Phleps is survived by his wife and two children, one of whom is a firefighter with the Terre Haute Fire Department.

Needing prayers 🙏 My fiancee has had a kidney stone attack for the first time in two years. She is a chronic producer ,but has been lucky not to have any recently. Of course she's in a lot of pain. She's used to the song and dance,but it's not pleasant. She'll likely need surgery to remove them as she usually does.

Keep her in your prayers 🙏 I hate her being in that kind of pain. Thanks!

Haley update.

We saw the oncologist yesterday to receive CT results from Tuesday. Haley’s cancer has become more aggressive in her right lung. The tumor has grown and is constricting her airways leading into the upper lobe and middle lobe of her right lung. The oncologist is starting chemotherapy for Haley on Monday. She will do 2 rounds of chemotherapy plus continue her immunotherapy. After the second round of chemotherapy he will order a scan to determine if the cancer is responding. She will continue her chemotherapy treatment as long as the cancer is responding. Her oncologist is also going to be investigating clinical trials to determine if there is one available at this time that would be appropriate for Haley. Thank you to everyone for your prayer and outreaches. You have been such a blessing to us. Please continue praying for wisdom as there are decisions to be made in the presence of the unknown. God continues to be faithful.

I hate cancer so much as it has taken so many of my loved ones. Especially hate seeing younger folks having to deal with it. Continued prayers for her, her family and docs 🙏🏻

Oh no..... I'm so sorry to hear that she's going through this. How heartbreaking. Will definitely be keeping her and her family in my thoughts and prayers 🙏 Nobody should go through that!

Update on my fiancee. She had to wait until Tuesday to have the procedure to remove the kidney stone. No other doctor in the area seems to know what they're doing,she decided to wait until Tuesday for the doctor she knows to perform the surgery. They also think she has a gall stone due to the enormous amount of pain. I'm going to go check on her today to see how she is. Just continue to keep her in your prayers 🙏
