Needing prayers.

Dude, I was there with my wife in that condition with sepsis for 5.5 weeks in ICU. Prayers for his recovery. She didn't have any health issues at all before that, but that trach laid the smack down on her.
Same here. Surviving sepsis ain’t easy. I was in the hospital for three months and physical rehab place for two more. Then physical therapy three times a week for a year and a half.

Do you ever feel like you got back to where you were before in terms of strength?
I ask because this was seven years ago now, and she's a lot better than she was, but nowhere close to where she was before.

Before I started any physical therapy in the hospital I couldn’t sit up in the bed by myself and my record for standing up for a while was 1 minute. I’m back at work now but to answer your question no, I’m not as strong as I was before it happened but I think my age is working against me.

Dad got his EKG and heart monitor report today. I had taken him for that a couple of weeks back. They found nothing irregular at all.
But there's something going on. He fell twice yesterday and once earlier today, mom said.
He says he's light headed.
ask them to check for vertigo
Was gonna say the same. Praying they figure it out

Well, the silver lining is that you recovered and were able to go back to work. My wife tried to go back to work, but only lasted a couple of months.
She was 53 when it happened to her, and I think the age is a factor with her as well in terms of her getting to where she wants to be. I'm just grateful she's still here. She had her GB removed in late 90s and in 2013 an old gallstone got into her bile duct and sepsis set in. They couldn't find the right antibiotic. Her doctor, who impressed me greatly, said a prayer for her every day when he visited. Then she got better one day, nothing they did is what her GI doctor said, said it was God's hand, which I had no doubt. Later, she had another stone get trapped, and I had to hang her IV tubes off the pictures in the living room because the insurance company didn't want to pay for her to go to the infusion clinic. There was only one antibiotic that would get the infection she got that time.

I will be praying for her to get stronger and avoid any more setbacks. When I woke up in the ICU I found out the doctors had told my family and later told me they did not expect me to survive. 🙂

She, along with your family, will be added to my prayers. I know I kid around in here and don’t show it, but I believe God absolutely has this as he does with all of us.
edit: keep us informed as you can

We had already talked to a counselor when my wife recovered.
I will also pray for you to get stronger and to avoid more setbacks!

My Dad (82) has a bout of light headedness here and there. He also had the heart monitor/EKG stuff and all was normal. The doctors finally narrowed the cause down to an inner ear issue.

Apparently we are going to avoid the need for a liver transplant for now.
So status quo is being maintained.
That’s the best we can do. We are thankful that it gets to continue.

thanks to all.
