I believe that many times answers to prayers are couched in "I got what I asked for".Let me give you a verse that is the secret to answered prayer.
Jesus said," John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you."
Bow your ear to God as you study his word and then simply trust by faith that he will do what he said that he would do. If you listen to what he has to say, he will listen to what you have to say!!
Now he may or not answer them the way you want him to, but he will answer. Just remember that God loves you so much that he gave his only begotten Son for you. His love for you is proven on the cross of Calvary! So with that in mind, whatever he allows in your life he will be there with you through it all. He said that,"he will never leave nor forsake you. "
Look at what Romans chapter 8:28¶ And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Notice it says to them that love God. Jesus said," if ye love me, keep my commandments." So, just live by the book, study the book, and simply believe the Bible and God will work it out no matter what happens to you in this life! He may need you to suffer a while to help some poor lost sinner to God. It's hard to be sympathetic to someone if you haven't been where they are. When lost people see the peace and joy of God in your life through your suffering, it speaks louder than anything you can possibly say!
Then, lastly let me say that God can't trust everyone to suffer for him. Job was a good example of suffering for the glory of God. He loved and served God in the good times and the bad! God never wasted his pain and nor will he waste yours. And remember that the source of suffering is Satan and sin. We live in a sin cursed world.
God bless you friend, I hope something here will comfort your heart today. I'm suffering many things as well, so I can sympathize to a point with you.
I mentioned two big items, one was being able to sleep because I was going to have to take a job 8 hours from home when I was on the cusp of getting one 4.5 hours from home and the other was simply for strength to do what GVG needed when she needed it this year, the answers were immediate and brought immeasurable peace. I tend to not make serious prayers about insignificant everyday stuff as I believe there is a direction for everyone and that in most things that we do or don't do there is a plan and we are given the ability to be wrong.God always answers every prayer. It may not be what you want it to be, but he answered none the less.
It's so awesome when God so graciously answers our prayers! Especially when he does it and it couldn't be anything but God!!I mentioned two big items, one was being able to sleep because I was going to have to take a job 8 hours from home when I was on the cusp of getting one 4.5 hours from home and the other was simply for strength to do what GVG needed when she needed it this year, the answers were immediate and brought immeasurable peace. When someone finds peace as soon as they make a decision, it usually means God has answered, at least that’s always it’s been with me. Prayers from me are always with you and GVG.I mentioned two big items, one was being able to sleep because I was going to have to take a job 8 hours from home when I was on the cusp of getting one 4.5 hours from home and the other was simply for strength to do what GVG needed when she needed it this year, the answers were immediate and brought immeasurable peace. That's what's hard, the kids. I mean it's bad enough for him, but him being left by himself with their kids. I guess I've feared that scenario so much, seeing it happen to someone I know makes me hurt for him. Their oldest is a freshman in college on a baseball scholarship, and youngest is like little bits age.no words, sorry to hear for someone so young and kids also involved.
I wonder how Duncan is doing these days that was rough on him with the kidsThat's what's hard, the kids. I mean it's bad enough for him, but him being left by himself with their kids.
