Just watched it & walked away underwhelmed. I didn't really learn anything that I had already known before watching it. Anyone else feel this way or did I miss something?

If this is the standard, I have a gut feel that Swamp Kings might come out flat as well. But that just might be my disdain for the lizard folk talking.

Haven't watched it-most.likely never will but have seen quite a few interviews with him recently.

Every one, he is bemoaning how he no longer wants to be Jonnie Football and wants to just be a normal dude.

Recently, he announced plans to open a bar/nightclub right off the A&M campus. Does it really sound like he is trying to get away from being JF at all with that move? I can see him walking around in his bar every night in a stupor trying to hit on sorority chicks by telling them about how he beat Bama when they were 7 ha ha.

Basically, he sounds to me like he is saying one thing and then turning around and doing the other.

Oh well. Anyone expecting consistency from Manziel should have been paying attention for the last decade.

Sounds like a smart thing for a middle aged single guy to do.

I remember Jonny Football mania and thought “this guy is a punk that’s going to ruin his life”
I watched the documentary and thought “this guy is still a punk”

I haven't seen all of them, but in my experience the sports series that Netflix puts out (Manti Teo, Full Swing, Aaron Hernandez, etc.) are targeting people who don't watch those sports. If you follow sports and kept up with those events as they occurred, there's virtually no new information in them.

I'd be stoked to see a Netflix special on Johnny Unitas.
Great quarterback. My all time favorite. But apparently not a very nice man. Friend of mine was flight attendant on the team plane back in the early 70s as his career with the Colts was winding down.

Johnny Football was never “a brave guy” and still isn’t. He was an egotistical kid that partied rather than worked and got everyone to cover up his misdeeds because they were making money off of him and he knew it. He got the opportunity of a lifetime and squandered it thoroughly.

And even now he won’t own up to his own choices. Look at the part where he addresses the abuse against his ex. His only statement is

“Throughout that relationship I was unfaithful, and, you know, we get into a heated, heated argument," he says. "She's trying to jump out of the car, and, um..."

That’s literally it. According to the police report he dragged her by her hair into the car and punched her several times. But hey, I’m sure his “ummmm” is a very good explanation for everything?

He’s not doing anything with his life, his sister even said so claiming he can’t right now because of his issues.

Is he going to therapy? Part of a drug treatment program? A sobriety program? Trying to finish school so he can get a job?

None of that is addressed so I can only assume the answers.

It’s the classic excuse when you can’t put up an argument, attack the other person not their facts.
It's either "jealousy" or "insecurity" that the intellectually lazy throw around when confronted with something they don't like.

Johnny Football is a scumbag. It takes a scumbag to have any envy for the life he has.

There is no doubt Johnny Manziel was electric and fun to watch in college football

Manziel was a great College football player. So great that you see it fit to celebrate the fact that he screwed up what could’ve been a great nfl career with drugs and partying. Furthermore you do so behind a computer screen on a forum. Then you brag about your ability to talk **** about him….

That being said I’m not sure what’s sadder, someone with Manziel’s talent throwing it away. Or someone like you who sits behind a computer screen trashing another man’s life and thinking that it gives you some kind of higher moral ground.

As the parent of an addict who has never faced their addiction, if they are talking they are lying. The are master manipulators. It’s their only skill. Do you really believe the “I pulled the trigger and it just clicked” thing?

I remember seeing an interview with Philip Seymour Hoffman talking about his addiction and that he had been clean for 8 years. I told my wife that he was lying. I could tell by his body language and his delivery. A few months later he died from an overdose.

I actually thought it was pretty entertaining. Then again, I’m so desperate for football content that I just watched the Kurt Warner movie, and it’s REALLY bad.

Yeah, I'm not buying that. Dry that one out, you can fertilize the lawn.
