Never ever happy on here

32 pts against a #12 Georgia does not indicate "a bad OC" Today's loss can be attributed to turn overs and losing the special teams part of the game. Peterman was ineffective. Worley missing the 3rd quarter was another major factor in today's outcome. Too rant and rant about the OC is understatedly myoptic.

Same Georgia team that got blasted by SC. The same SC that looked terrible against Vandy and Texas A&M

8 of 15 drives ended in punts with all but one of those having single digit yardage. 2 ended in fumbles. That leaves 5 successful drives. At what number do you start to question that maybe the play calling is part of our problem?

I am...Chaney had severe tunnel vision...ala Randy Sanders. He got relief with Bray's gifted arm...stats wise...but check out how awesome he was with Matt Simms.

You can't be serious about Matt Simms

Simms couldn't throw a rock and hit the ground

"Blasted?"...that's what you consider a 3 point loss?...safe to say we got "blasted" today huh?

You complained about the offensive coach. You act like we were shut out. Wait until this guy gets Pearson back! This offense will be as prolific as 2012. Worley is a nfl qb contrary to these fools on here think. Our defense is going to get us 8 wins!

So complaining about Bajakian's ineptitide equates to complaining about Worley? I don' follow. Getting VP back will be great, but if Bajakian continues to go full retard when it matters most, it won't matter who is on the field.

Huh? No, I didn't have this marked as a win. I thought we'd lose. I also think Jones is no better than an above average coach at this point. Just because you get what you expect doesn't make it "good".

All of that is irrelevant. Of course I am unhappy when we can't beat the spread against a mid-major conference opponent. Of course, I don't see any upside or moral victory to yet another close loss to Georgia.

I don't see the contradiction there. Both are bad. Repeatedly losing to a conference rival is bad. Not being able to blow out cupcakes is bad. Do you think other fanbases find this sort of thing good?

I never claimed moral victories were good. The point is you don't believe Jones is a good coach. And that's fine. It's not anything that happened today that led you to that conclusion, though.

Losing sucks. The two turnovers hurt today. At some point we will have to get to the point were we can make those few plays that are the difference between winning and losing. I'm hoping it begins next week.

Count, no one wants to lose anymore.

I get that.

But we picked up a 5 star DT and a 4 star DE last night.

We have a very young line, a true freshman RB, and TKJR is already doing great and he is a freshman.

We were also without VP and Josh Smith...that would have changed things.

Our defense is stout too. We really made them have to throw the ball, they could not run it down our throats....and that is with a lot of our Dline being Freshman.

Give the man some time.

I think we make a bowl and next year we win 9.
If dormady can't come in and win the starting job were gonna struggle to win six next year

A lot of you guys act like *****es on here and need your balls to drop.

Before the game we get post like....

GA would kill OU...we are about to get blown out.

Spread is 19...we'll be lucky to beat it.

I hope we don't get blown out by 40.

and so and so.

Then we come out, with a group of Freshman, and a brand new line, and battle a GA that is NOT missing half their players like last year, and we take it down to the wire.

What the hell do you people want?

Yes, we are young...but for those about to say I am so sick of the young excuse...please check out our current recruiting....CBJ is fixing that.

Every f'n ESPN announcer gives us high praise after every game and says we are on the right path. They keep saying we are playing much better.

But noooo....because we didn't win the game those of you who stated we would lose by 30 are still *****ing.

This is far as I needed to read. Great post.

True. I think that means finding a way to get to a bowl game and signing another top ten recruiting class. Beating the No.12 team in the road is more than one floor above basement level, in my book anyway.

We were close today. That's not acceptable forever, but it's progress. I think.

Georgia won't be top 12 in the end with that D.

Some of this people just don't get it. The main difference with Butch is that I personally believe we can win when we get in these close games. The team and coaches look like the believe they will win too, and play like it. For one thing, Butch has already won a close game vs. a big-time opponent.

Complete opposite story with Dools, I remember feeling like we would never be able to pull out a win with Dooley. Seemed like coaches, players, and fans felt the same way.

Butch's program has proven to have much more fight, grit, toughness, and determination about them. Combined with the fact that Jones is recruiting on an elite level (much better than Dooley), makes me think that we will be very difficult to deal with in the coming year.

Think about what Worley looked like early in his career... Dobbs and Peterman still have some time to develop, and you don't know how one of them might respond if he potentially wins the starting job coming out of spring. Although, I am apprehensive about Peterman, don't think that guy will ever really be successful as an SEC QB.

I agree

Hahaha…78% of this board was happy with a 24-point loss to Oklahoma. There is no major program fanbase with lower expectations or lower standards than what you find here.

That poll was one of the MOST EXTRAORDINARY EXAMPLES OF DELIBERATELY COOKING THE STATISTICAL “BOOKS” that I have ever seen. You used carefully selected verbiage with the express hope of evoking data which would support a preconceived opinion. If, on the other hand, you truly wished to accurately gauge the mood of Vol Nation, you could have used a more open-ended question and a more nuanced range of options. In the process, you might have actually produced some insightful data.

For example, you could have asked “Which of the following most accurately characterizes your mood/perspective following the Oklahoma game?”

(1) Surprisingly pleased. The final score was misleading. Without that interception return for a TD, Oklahoma would have won by only 27-17.
(2) Thoroughly happy with the effort but obviously displeased with the final score.
(3) Satisfied under the circumstances, given the matchup of our extreme youth, particularly on the offensive line, versus their veteran offensive and defensive lines.
(4) The outcome of this game falls under the category of “growing pains.” I like the overall progress and effort of this team, particularly on defense.
(5) Utterly disgusted. Tennessee should never lose by 24 points to anyone, at home or on the road, regardless of the opponent or the circumstances surrounding the game.

I realize that the polling option of this website precludes the use of such lengthy selections, but a poll constructed in this fashion would, at least, have illustrated the prevalence of a wider range of options than one which offered only a yes/no response to an absolutist question? Fortunately, a lot of Tennessee fans actually are capable of taking context into consideration in evaluating the performance of their team.

You get out of here with that crap. We don't take kindly to your kind around here. Damn city slicker liberal.

My father is a rabid Vol Fan for 50 years and when The Coach who shall not be named was here he turned off Tennessee Football as we both knew the result. he was disgusted watching Tennessee get beat by 30 point and not even look competitive that includes the Oregon game last year. How many games did we see during 2010-2012 that we lead only to watch the other team overtake us and some of the players quit or get defeated. This team didn't quit, like those teams did! My father whose seen more than his share of Vols football (including the loss to Chattanooga) said that they looked like a much better team than any of the past 3-4 teams.

My only regret is that I can only like your post one time. So proud of our Vols! The rest if the SEC is taking notice. Don't think they are not!
