Neverending MBRO memory thread

Haven’t they fixed the a/c yet?
Unfortunately that whole building doesn't have it. They did buy more fans, and a few of those portable AC things you plug in, and you just put in a corner or something. They're really good for like a bedroom or kitchen, my parents have one, but not in a building like our gym. I needed to wear down like that, that way I'll fall asleep fast tonight after church 🤣. 2 am will come early

Whew, I can’t (and don’t want to) imagine the smell.

To be honest, 285 didn't exist, 85 didn't exist, 20 didn't exit and 75 was a two lane gravel road.
During my second residency in the area, I285 was completed and GA400 was begun. I remember the IGA anchoring the new strip shopping center ~2 miles from my neighborhood. Yeah, baby!

me too unfortunately. Driving from Knoxville to S. Ga on "state hwys" was a real joy when I was growing up. Standing in the front seat between mama and daddy so I could look out the windows.
I remember going to visit Grandparents in west Arkansas and it being 13 to 15 hour trip. 40 was being constructed and 70 was the primary route of travel.

I can't remember the drive to Atlanta. We made the trip several times to go to Six Flags and the zoo, tho.

Many a childhood trip on two-lane blacktop, however, the best were trips in the Piper Apache! Flying beat driving every time!

Everything is ready! His wife is picking up our steaks now. There's a little island with a firepit, lots of people use it. Just take food, and a grill screen, and you're set! We fish, then go to the island and cook while the kids swim. Even if we don't catch anything, usually do, it's a good time.
