My last couple of hearing test in the AF, I did the same. As soon as I was in the booth with head phones on, my tinnitus would go into overdrive. It sounded just like the tones. I actually enjoyed it, but you have to appreciate a never-ending variation of rhythms. And noise. Lots of noise.
I have rolled myself out of bed on the first day of an attack of vertigo, because my brain was convinced that I was falling toward the right. (I sleep on the left.) I've sort of learned to catch it when it starts, but the first day and a half or so are hell.
