New Commit LB Crump

Nah...with the soon to be departure of Stanley and probably Williams too, we need able bodies at the LB position, were not in on any other LB's either.

John Brown may not qualify, so we will have plenty of room to finish strong with the top of our board.

I thought Williams decided to stay???? :crossfingers:

I agree with you, but they may know something we do not......

GBO!!!!!!

I understand that but there are prob 4 more that will sign with us tomorrow Rogers,Stone, Smith, Glass, and Possably the big OL from Mississippi. And the rumor is that Williams told them he is stayin on the hill. I am just concerned if we do not have the space the recruits will look elsewhere.

For someone that wanted to be closer to home & liked Dooley for being genuine & straight-up (not exact words, but the gist I got), I'm surprised Stanley seems to be being entranced by the Cruela DeVille over there at USC. Now, it's to the point that I'd be surprised if he signed with us on NSD. He may even be more enamored with the increased attn, not sign on NSD & take other visits. Who knows. He's "open". Whatever. Hope we get him, but it doesn't look good.

Let Stanley go. No big deal. Yes he is a beast but must have character issues wanting to to to USC. Crump wants to be a Vol. He wants to give his all for tennessee today.

VB

VFL makes a strong point. Of course I think Stanley would be great for us, but if he chooses a different path...

...so be it.

I heard that from someone else on here but have yet to see anything on it...will research that real quick.

I just read that supposedly Williams called the coaches on Sunday night and reaffirmed his committment to UT. It seems though, that Delvin Jones is in his ear to come to Ole Miss with him. I don't really understand that move on Williams part. Jones probably won't qualify.

We will have the space. Were sitting at 25 commits right now.

All indications are that Stanley will leave.

That makes 24.

We will have at least one guy not qualify.

That makes 23.

So we have 7 spots left. Plenty of room.

Everything I've seen shows Smith is gone. We will not get him. I believe Glass is a fall back if we do not get Robinson (big OL from MS).

I would like to see us get Stone, Robinson, and Glass myself. We need the help at OL.

I predict we get:

Ralph Williams
Probst
Crump

and call it a day for LB's........

V, B!!

No test score to date...seems that Delvin wants to go wherever Williams goes...if Williams wants to come to UT, we will take him, the ship may have sailed for Delvin though, seeing as he won't probably qualify.

1 thing that I haven't thought about is if we play a 3-4, we already have some LB's committed.

Guys like Jac and Corey could play that outside speed-rush position.

I think Jac is going to be a LB. I just don't see him putting on enough good weight to be an every down DE. JMO

The thing I like about Crump is on his highlight vid he made a couple of great special teams coverage plays. I think Dooley by having a special teams coach probably really emphasizes this. The thing I notice about all the lower rated guys he took are they all make great grades, seem to have high character and intelligence (Crump is an eagle scout that built a bridge for his church), and they are all probably good, willing, and excited to be specialt teams candidates. After what I've seen in this department that last almost decade... I like this idea by Dooley! Probably why a team like Virginia Tech is always so good on special teams b/c they always take guys like this...

I'm with you. Pulling for the kid. Maybe it's just my left wing crazy liberal, pull for the underdog mentality coming out

Really like him because I'm a Minor alum. But he'll be good just wait and see. He's a bigger Demeco Ryans.
