I really like Dooley, at least as much as I know of him from watching how he handles himself in interviews. However he has not impressed me at all as a coach. I have always believed that if a coach is really good you will see immediate improvement in the team. Doolys team plays very soft, In one for instance a running back ran out bounds about a yard shy of the first down to keep from getting hit. He could have easily made a first down. On the next play we got stuffed at the line, lost a couple of yards and had to punt. This kind of thing doesn't happen to well coached teams.

Bull I seem to recall that TN had LSU beat at home with all those sorry players untill a penalty gave LSU a chance to score a winning field goal.

I don't see any improvement in this team, they seem to make up different ways of losing. Lets see if they can beat Vandy.

RCs get direction from OC and the DC , I've met LB coaches who were recruiters, as well as strength and conditioning coaches, Bamas strength coach is a BEAST! He gets players going and keeps them there! If you can talk and know what HS athletes want , you can be a RC . OC and the dc spear head recruiting, RCs do more with organizing than actual field work they spend lots of time in offices on the phone, they aren't "coaches" more liaisons .

Here's finally someone that actually knows what he's talking about.

Recruits and their parents go to the forums of every school they're thinking about commiting to so they can read and see what people are saying about the coaches and team members.

This is the INTERNET age and all high schools teach everything about computers and the internet.

High school kids hear all the coach talk and spin just as their parents do so they want other opinions of coaches and they want to know about the fanbase, what's said about coaches and players so they'll know what to expect if they decide to go to that school.

Here on VN people belittle and bash and call our own players foul names and show the kids wearing Tennessee Orange no respect or appreciation at all when they have a bad game or if they're highly ranked on a BS star rating system and they don't live up to all the hype they had piled on them coming out of high school.

17 year old high school KIDS don't expect or want to see this kind or crap going on and they certainly do NOT want to play for a school that's trying to rebuild back to being a powewrhouse SEC team again and know they'll be talked about on here like they're just useless crap.

Only a IDIOT would really believe that our players and recruits don't come on here and read what SO-CALLED fans are saying.

You people are totally WRONG if you think you're not hurting our team and our recruiting.

Just like you all were WRONG when you said our O linemen were crap.

Just like you were WRONG when you said all our RB's were crap.

Just like you were WRONG when you said we'd never have a good running game until we got good SEC type O linemen and RB's to replace the crap players we have now.

Just like you were WRONG when you said this team is a 9, 10 or more Win team this season.

Just like you were WRONG when you said it's easy to learn the 3-4 Defence in less than 1 year when everyone knows it takes 2 YEARS to switch and get the 3-4 working well.

Just like you're WRONG when you say all our coaches are cmplete crap.

Thank God that all the WRONG people here that think they're great AD's or coaches will never make the decisions for my Tennessee Vols football program because if you did then my Vols would forever be worse than Kentucky and Vandy

That might be right my friend BUT it could also be totally wrong too.

THINK...If a recruit is a DB and he's highly rated with lots of schools recruiting him he just might see that Tennessee badly needs good DB's so there's a very good opportunity with our Vols that he could play or maybe even start early in his college career at Tennessee.

Good high school players love the game and they want to play...NOT sit on the bench for 2 or 3 years waiting his turn to get on the field at Bama, UGA or floriDUHHH.

These kids want ON the field and to play as fast as they can learn everything so they can make plays, make a impact on the game and to put LOTS of plays on tape so they can learn more faster AND to try and make a really good impression on NFL scouts with lots of film for the NFL people to review.

Sometimes a school that's struggling and needs good players at the position the high school recruit plays isn't a holdback but is really a great opportunity to play sooner and to get lots more real game experience faster and the kids get to have lots more fun because he's getting to play the game he really loves.

Practice was never great fun for me but when I lined up against another team and got to put a slobberknocker on somebody I was grinning from ear to ear and having a blast.

CDD talked James Stone into forgeting about going to alaBubba and coming to Tennessee and thank God CDD got that good O lineman for us instead of alaBummer getting him.

Patterson and Hunter could have gone to many other schools and so could have AJ, Maggitt, Randolph, McCullers, Sentimore, McNeil and many others but even though Tennessee had been losing lots of games for many years
somehow CDD was able to convince those good players to come play at Tennessee so being a losing school doesn't always turn good players away.

Dooley is just over his head. I think he is smart, likable and was just above his pay grade so to speak.

It would have taken him almost 15 years at LaTech as coach & AD to make the money he has made/is walking away from UT with in 3 years. Just get it done Hart!

CDD doesn't coach for the money jughead...He coaches because he loves football and teaching the kids.

CDD and his Doctor wife were Millionaires long before he ever came to Tennessee.

In fact they were Millionaires before he told Saban he wasn't going to Bama with him and went to La. Tech.

The $5 Million buyout was to try and get Tennessee to keep their word of honor and keep the contract to give him 4 full recruiting classes that he put together and 5 years to coach since the 1st recruiting class that he got to work on was laMe kiffScums and he only got 2 weeks to try and add some good players to that class which he did pretty well at.

I'm STILL waiting for you to make even 1 post that says something good or positive about Tennessee football since I've NEVER seen you post even 1, LOL!

When a coaching staff DOES recruit good players and a new coaching staff comes in and wins with the old staffs players then the old coaching staff that recruited those good players DOES get some credit my friend.

No new coaching staff can win instantly unless the old coaching staff left some good players behind.

La. Tech HAS won alot of games with alot of the players that CDD recruited and left behind and facts simply prove that kid.

You're the type that would deny it's daytime even if your watch said it's high nooin, LMAO!!!

If you really believe that then I feel sorry for you and it's obvious that you haven't read some of my other posts so I'll try and help you out a little.

Tennessee has been mostly a losing, bottom teir SEC team for most of 10 years and our program was 1 of the worst in the country after laMe kiffScum ran away.

We were under NCAA investigations too when CDD got here and we all know that every coach we recruit against says everything bad about Tennessee they can think of to all the recruits.

Despite all of that CDD has still brought in some good football players and probably 18 to 20 of them will play in the NFL when they graduate.

Sometimes a top recruit will see a good opportunity to play or to start much sooner with a losing program that is rebuilding and working back towards the top.

THINK...Most really good high school recruits love football and they want to get on the field ASAP.

Would a good recruit really want to sit on the bench most of the time for 2 or 3 years at a top SEC school and wait their turn in line to get to be a starter when he could come to Tennessee and play some his Freshman year and maybe be a starter his Soph year?

Hunter, Stone, Patterson, McNeil. Randolph, McCullers, Sentimore, AJ, Maggitt and several others could have gone to several other schools but CDD managed to get them to come to Tennessee but being a mostly losing program for most of the last 10 years did NOT stop them from becoming a Vol.

Losing IMO and by Tennessee standards is winning less than at least 8 or 9 ganes a year consistently and that's where I expect to get back to in another year or 2 at the most and to build upwards from there.
