New forum: Coaching Rumors and Speculation

Ok, I think I understand where this was going.

Recruits like to go where they can play early. Check

Dooley landed some good players because they could see early PT at Tennessee. Check

Dooley has built the roster up because of this. Check

Question:

Now that the recruits won't be able to come in and see early PT won't recruiting fall off?

Won't recruiting fall apart as now the roster is stocked and Dooley can't coach them to win ball games?

Recruits can come to UT to sit and LOSE or go to (insert other school here) and play early OR sit and WIN.

This guy cracks me up.

It's absolutely amazing ..
Year #1 lose to Florida,Georgia,Alabama,South Carolina ,LSU
Year #2 Lose to Florida,Georgia,Alabama,South Carolina,Arkansas,Kentucky,LSU
Year #3 Lose to Florida,Georgia,Alabama,South Carolina ,MSU ...

And yet they talk about How much Improvement Dooley has made!

Man!! Don't give me that BS!! Dooley has stockpiled this roster!! We have talent all over the field. We have made tons of improvement!! We are keeping it within 2 TD's a game except for UF, and Bama. What more could a guy ask for in year 3? Sure we are 0-5 in the SEC. Just wait till the 2nd season coming up when we go 2-2!! Improvement!! By 2036, we will be a consistant 8 win team. Yeah Buddy!!

Cover? Year 6? Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. Let's get them to tackle someone 1st.

"We need to recruit bigger DB's to compete in the SEC with our new 3-4".

"Why are our DB's slower than ones we had here before"?

"Umm, Umm, I'll get back to you".

You guys realize there is an actual forum for this stuff right? Freak didn't mean post about it in this thread.

Dooley Making A Comeback????

Posted: Thursday, November 1st, 2012, 8:28 AM

A little birdie or two or three in the inner circle who have been helping me with some inside stuff that's been reported on the site here are telling me that Derek Dooley has a ally for getting another year in Jimmy Cheek. It seems Cheek is pleading with the money guys who will ultimately call the shot on Dooley that he deserves another year. Or more to the point as I've been told that Cheek believes UT isn't fiscally ready to get into the $5-7 million range for a coach. I also think this has something to do with (as far as I can ascertain) Cheek's desire to keep athletics in its place and not get too professional so as to keep up with the big money schools around the conference and country.

(( I copied this from Basilio Blog lol ))

After thinking about it IF it's true and I was big Jim H. I would toss Cheek a $100. bill and tell him to go have a nice dinner and to shut the h3ll up and stay out of the football program, LOL.

VFL...GBO!!!

Although the team has been improving under Dooley, other teams have been improving under their head coaches as well. If we want to win/catch-up to these other teams, we need a coach who can improve the team faster/more than the other coaches, and Dooley isn't the coach for the job.

Let's say we skip out on improving our current coaching situation. Imagine.......Petrino going back to Auburn. Then, CPF, after his buyout ends, decides to rebuild a winning tradition at UK, and let's imagine that he drags Ron Zook along as DC and RC. What if, without offers from preferred schools, David Cutcliffe, a QB coaching mastermind, heads off to Arkansas. I know, it seems pretty "out there". But humor me, please.

How far behind would we fall, with just one more year of CDD, if any of these possibilities came true?

But seriously, we are at rock bottom. Or very close to it. How much further can we fall? Off the cliff, maybe? Into the abyss of the eternal SEC doorstep?

I bet these forums would collapse at that point. There would be no recovering from it. UK, Vandy and ole Miss are still trying to claw their way out of that abyss. LSU finally clawed their way back out, in the 90's and 2000's.

Yes, barring a very few winning seasons in the 80's and early 90's, LSU was an SEC Chump. Regularly beaten badly by SEC opponents.

Are we to fall to that level? We'll see.

If you don't recall he played against his former team in the Superbowl.....
So what's your point?

good post. The new excuse is Dooley is building slow and doing it right for the long hall . lol

And 10 years from now, he will still be building slow while getting his stool pushed in by Georgia, Florida, and Bama. The people still supporting Dooley are Doolusional.

I thought we were last place in 2011 and currently in last place this year.

So, to answer your question...there's no place to fall because we are on the bottom.

I supported dooley all the way until this yr. it was put up or shut up time! well as you all can see he did NOT put up! So its time to shut up and move on. Im not sure who is out there to replace him but I would love to get John G.. How ever I dont know if he will ever come back here? There maybe others that could bring us back to glory but he could do it a lot faster than anyone that i can think of off hand. We would get 5* recruits right away just off who he is!!! lets all pray that Hart some how gets him here ASAP that would save what recruits we have and get alot more come sighing day! JUST MY 2 CENTS, THAT DOESNT COUNT FOR MUCH. THAT IS MY VIEW AS A LIFE LONG FAN THAT IS SICK TO DEATH OF LOSING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alright, I know noone will believe me but oh well. I have heard Gruden talk on the phone and his words exactly were Hart made an offer to his agent and he is interested but he will not comment no more than that until after the season with respect to the current Tennessee coaching staff. Like I said, I know noone will believe me, but that is legit. Hope at the end he accepts the offer. We need some intensity and passion up there.

Anyone else think Dooley is forcing Hart's hand? I mean $5million over the next few years to do nothing sounds good to me.
