I keep waiting for Six Flags to buy Dollywood, guess they haven't made an offer she can't refuse.

SF here in ATL is an absolute dump.
Nashvegas needs this but the Smyrna area seems like it would be better.

location makes sense.....easy for anyone to get to from nashville and smyrna/murfreesboro can hit up 840 no problem. If you plan on spending most of a day at a theme park then a 30 min drive is not a big deal.

We only went one time. It's the only amusement park I've been to that had metal detectors at the entrance.

I'm calling bs on this. The guy oversold his plans (hoax) when he said he was in talks with the NBA about bringing a team to the area. In a league where the idea of contraction has come up, I doubt David Stern is interested in bringing a team to Maury Co. in Tennessee.

Wait... slow down.

Who is "the guy"? His name wasn't mentioned in the article. And secondly, I want to see a quote where the guy actually said he was going to move a team to Maury County. I'm sure you are exaggerating.

My initial thought was that it seemed too cheap and too quick to amount to much. I read an article that said Epcot cost 3,000,000,000 in 1982 dollars. To announce an agreement today and and hope to open late next year seems a bit ambitious.

This would do very well. There is nothing near nashville for all the people visiting the Grand Old Opry to visit. I for one am stoked. Please happen!

You know what, now that you say that, I did read that and thought it was a low estimate. The Cowboys Stadium alone was $1 billion. 2 hotels and a theme park... by next year. Thanksgiving? Who is going to open a theme park on Black friday weekend.

Yeah, on second thought, this "guy" whoever he is may have actually talked about putting a team in Spring Hill. But I still gotta see the quote.

The only options you have are either Lake Winniepasauka in Rossville, GA or Five Flags in Louisville, KY.

I like roller coasters. :cray:

Festival Tennessee: What You Need to Know About New Theme Park

click on the underlined part 'developers say' in this link and the video is in there of the guy announcing all these big plans (ideas) for the area. We're talking about Spring Hill and this guy brings up the NBA and says it will have one of the largest water parks in the U.S. Sorry if that makes me a little skeptical.

The ONLY thing I miss about Ohio is Cedar Point. CP was in the middle of nowhere and was the best rollercoaster park in the world. This would do great if done right. CP can make it being in Sandusky and having no direct right to it than this could.

If you love coasters hit up CP for Hallow EVE. Rides till midnight. Never gets better than having the wind off the lake hitting your face in 35 degree weather as you spiral down the Top Thrill Dragsters hill at 120 miles per hour. Wooha baby. Wooha.

Stern put a team in OK City, and Nashville's got more going on than OKC

With the 1st pick in the 2020 NBA draft, the Spring Hill Impala's select.....

The Grizzlies will be leaving Memphis at some point. Why not Spring Hill?

You are right next to Franklin and Brentwood which are bringing in large corps almost daily now and its corps that feel these boxes. Also look at the growth projections for that area. It is projected by the state of TN to triple in size by 2025.

Already have the Preds, if Memphis can't support one team than how will Nashville support two that play a lot of same nights?

The Thunder are the only pro team in Oklahoma. Nashville already has the Preds and I doubt the NHL would award OKC with a hockey team since them already have the NBA. Likewise, we already have hockey with an NBA team near by in Memphis plus the Titans take away sports dollars too.

“We are contacting the NBA to try and bring an NBA team here to Spring Hill.”

Oh yeah... this guy is nuts.

I mean, did this guy just say 10,000 jobs in the area?

Look, I don't think the guy was serious about the NBA. He simply said he would contact them about a team. Hell, I could contact them about bringing a team anywhere too. The concerning part is that if he is "dreaming" that big or intentionally fluffing up his project by bringing it up tells me this thing will be nowhere near as big as he is leading on. Unless he works for the government, I doubt anyone handling 750 million dollars is that dumb.
