as a past employee of Opryland, it kills me that we dont have it or another park. You cant imagine how much fun we had as employees and I really wanted my kids to experience that. For 10 yrs I worked with other kids my age from all over middle tennessee and I learned how to work, nothing like kids get now. We would work 50 hrs a week then go out drinking beer only to get up and do it again.I was hoping this new park would work.

At some point Herschend Family Entertainment was exploring building a theme park in Nashville in hopes to serve as a replacement for what once was the old Opryland USA theme park. Ultimately the deal fell through. Despite rumors that Dolly Parton and her themepark Dollywood in Pigeon Forge had shut down Opryland, it had nothing to do with it's closure. Opryland was severely handicapped from the beginning by it's location of being stuck between the Cumberland River and Briley Park. The river randomly flooding throughout the years is in fact what took down Opry Mills Mall in 2010 and the closure lasted the next two years until reopening in 2012.

Maybe they can get these shysters involved. Nothing happened, no movement, websites shut down and one of the dudes is being sued for other shennanigans

DreamVision makes theatrical entrance to north Alabama, says theme park is planned for 2019 | AL.com

Looks like they are doubling down on the amount of jobs created when compared to Festival Tennessee...

Officials from The DreamVision Company and financial partner Bryan Robinson of Muscle Shoals, however, were sparse on details for the project they say will provide up to 20,000 jobs.

The $3.5 billion park will be built entirely on private money, Robinson said.

"It's a big number but we're good," Robinson told an overflow crowd of about 400 people, who responded with applause.

At least they didn’t change the name of their town prior to the deal falling through like Lake City did.
That was an epic disaster from all sides. And when I say “all sides” I mean of the greater Coal Creek metropolitan. 85 years of leadership failure. There is a reason you’ll see actual tumbleweeds rolling through town on 25.
