Funny, Vandy wasn't even on my list of despised teams until recently. But with the whole "we're the superior team in the State" nonsense, they quickly climbed up there.

Don't care about Auburn so to speak. Almost pity Florida...almost.

Bama, yes, Florida, yes mostly, Vandy, yes. Texas...sucks. Most arrogant fans in college football

Seriously though, I don't get the hate for Texas. I actually admire their sense of pride and expectations of deserving only the best.

In all fairness to me...I have always hated texsucks. :)If you want to understand why...go live among that bunch of arrogant for no good reason tampons for a few years.

I dislike them furiously due to the fact they have an arrogance about them that is unrivaled. They play a soft schedule in a second rate conference and believe they can wave the Texas banner and a big bag of cash to get anyone to coach there.

Like the rich family that has fallen on hard times, they cannot accept the fact their team just isn't the premier school in Texas anymore. But still have the arrogance of thinking they win the national championship every year.

I get what you are saying but is that really such a bad way to be? If Tennessee were sitting on top of a mountain of cash in the middle of a recruiting hotbed like Texas, I definitely would expect championships each year. If we played their weaker schedule, it would just reinforce my attitude.

I'm out here in Big 12 country, so I get exposed to it all the time.

I think the major difference is the majority of Tennessee fans have come to terms that we face a long uphill battle to regain our spot in terms of national significance. I know it will happen and it takes time. But we know we are sitting on the bottom right now, but can move upwards.

Texas fans on the other hand have yet to figure out their program is lacking significance on the big stage. But again like the family that went from riches to rags, they still believe they are somehow relevant in the big stage. I talked to a few out here that thought they were going to go undefeated this year. Just plain arrogance because they are "Texas by God!"

If they don't hit a home run with this coaching hire (please take Franklin so he can fall on his face), they face the same thing we are going/have been through in the past five years. Or even longer as the traditional little brothers in Texas (A&M, TTU, TCU, Baylor) have become significant and leveled the playing field.
