New night shift thread

I can't believe some of those dumb sons a beeches are calling Butch on the hot seat. Dear lord do they not realize what the man has coming in recruiting? Just a few more pieces and the ass wuppins will commence. We are still playing, (and playing well imo considering the quality of competition,) with one hand tied behind our backs. :hi:

I was just looking at the current recruiting standings, we definitely have a guaranteed top 10 class (probably top5 , but the rest of the season will determine that) we moved up 4 and a lot of SEC teams are dropping quick. Mizzo Ole Piss and UF are falling , not sure if that's good or bad? Just thinking of competition , UGA is only ahead of us cause they have more commits and 0 5*.
Haven't paid to much attention to recruiting in the past , just now getting into it, so correct me or fill me in if you want.
I like this thread, I'm a night owl..

I put more people on ignore during the Georgia game than the entire time I've been here. I can deal with a few being negative, but there were some that just got right on my damn nerves.

The reason this is called the Night Shift thread is not because we stay up late and post anymore. The thread is named because we were called the night shift crew during the epic Gruden threads when we all were losers and didn't have jobs.

Sammy! Wassup :hi: I feel the same way. I won't believe it, until we do it. It is not that I don't think we can beat Florida..I do...but there has been so many times in the last 20 years that we should have won, and just didn't. I know UF has been more talented sometimes, especially the last 8 years, but there were a lot of times we just flat choked. I hope Butch gets rid of that stench of Fulmeritis for good. Playin scared and not to get beat, just gets you beat. Spurrier was aggressive and his team played aggressive.

Eww boy. The sharks are already circling in the football forum. All of the Super genius couch coaches are wondering why we don't just always run the magical touchdown play every time we have the ball.

Hey Sammy...been doin purty good, :hi: just wore out right now. I have been working 2 jobs and about 60 hours a week since last December. As far as today goes..I am glad our commits have got more sense than most of VN. :) I just had a bad feelin about today. It is so weird..the game turned out almost exactly like I thought. This team does not know how to win, and for some reason we are the most unluckiest bastards in the world of football. We are ruled by Murphy's law with an iron fist. I was afraid the team would play tight..they did..and I was afraid Florida's defense would play really good..they did. The combination of those two things doomed us to a loss. I think Muschamp knew his only hope of winning, and saving his ass was his D and he coached his ass off. :eek:hmy: Plus like I said...just the plain old rotten luck that pops up everytime we play the bastards. Tripping over our feet, sure handed receivers dropping easy catches at the most crucial times, our best RB getting hurt early, getting stupid penalties when we have not been getting any, refs missing calls against UF. Surely some day it will end. I just had a feelin it wasn't going to be today. :ermm: I know one thing for sure...if the idiots of Vol fandom don't stop with the "Fahr Jake!" and "Fire Butch if he doesn't change his offensive philosophy" crap...recruiting will suffer, and we will never be relevant again. At least in my lifetime. :hi:

Very well said. I agree pretty much right down the line with what you've said. I was trying not to get my hopes up, but I let myself get excited at the prospect of beating these guys. You're right, though, the tightness from our team mixed with the stifiling defense that florida played was just too much to overcome. Add in the the couple of bad breaks (that ref has to call the delay of game on that FG attempt), and it just makes it worse.

I'm a full time student and work 4 nights a week 5pm to 5am and go to school 8am -2:30 pm , I was hoping there would be a few reasonable posters that conversed at night or early am , looks like no one wants to talk football.

Sorry brah...suck's we can't all get together late anymore. If you want to know what the Night Shift was all about, go back to the beginning of this thread. It was a great place to converse about everything from football to the really important stuff like Squatchin and whatnot. Original NS crew is Doyle Hargraves a.k.a. Dirty Ds....Escape Goat a.k.a. Goat....SamRebel a.k.a. Sammy....Dudley87...a.k.a. Dudz...Cookevol a.k.a. Cooky....Grand Vol a.k.a. El Grande...and me Ulysees E. McGill a.k.a. Rucker or Ruck...Some of the funniest most entertaning stuff ever on The VN. This is actually the second Night Shift thread, the first one was locked because I went off the deep end on some Zoner interlopers. There were some other guys who came and went, but for the most part it was mainly the guys I mentioned.
