You give Italy too much credit. You may want to look at who Israel's biggest supporter in the last 50 years is, who overthrew Mossadegh, who created chaos by invading Iraq in 2002, etc. etc. Post WWII their bogeyman is us.

They saying dude shot himself with a Desert Eagle? I know thats not the only 50cal...but its by far the most popular. No way that doesnt exit either IMO...

This is exactly what my post earlier pertains to about the problem at hand. I am a small government Conservative by nature. I am all for personal rights and liberties and acknowledge that especially the Patriot Act after 9.11 eroded our rights in this country as law abiding citizens.

However...something has to be done now to protect innocent Americans from radical islamic terrorists that are within our own borders now in far greater numbers than ever before. When a church with a leader that preaches that all the rest of us are "lower than animals" has a member go and murder 15 innocent American civilians and injure many more...while flying an ISIS flag no less...what should we do?

Greatly increase the number of agents in the FBI to investigate all members of this mosque and any other that spout hateful rhetoric? What about rights to privacy and religion?

Make new task forces at the federal level whose only responsibility is to root out terrorists in the US...and assign some of the astronomical number of NSA agents to spy on them in particular? Listening to all their phone calls, scanning social media platforms constantly?

Should these forces be federal or state by state in nature? They would need a nationwide and worldwide database at a minimum in order to track threats as they cross state and local jurisdictions...and communicate to cells/people in other locations right?

What to do at a local LEO level, so that police in their normal daily activities coming across suspicious persons or activities can be proactive and hopefully prevent terrorist attacks before they happen?

What about coordinating with the CIA/state department/military so when a cell is discovered or some garbage terrorist group takes credit for an attack here ...we can hit them abroad where their leadership is? How can we target those abroad and stop them financing terror within our borders? We are still sending the Taliban at least $40M dollars a WEEK according to CIA analysts. Some say $50M plus a week and thats just the cash. Not counting all other forms of aid. Sarah Adams says the CIA knows that those same US funds are being funneled to terrorist groups that use the money to pay for attacks on US and our allies.

Where are we gonna draw the lines? These terrorists openly mock how easy it is to infiltrate and subvert the US and our government because of the protections given to them due to Civil Rights and Liberal bullcrap like DEI. What are we gonna do to stop that? Radical muslims cannot be a "protected class" now that the War on Terror is gonna be fought here instead of in the sandbox. Where do individual rights end and common sense about not aiding our enemies begin?

So many questions to be answered. Sticking our heads in the ground and hoping this problem goes away is not a viable option.

I agree it’s not rational. At this point I’m also assuming 50% of the reporting is incorrect.

But what I’m fairly confident in is that this guy rented that truck, this guy drove it to Las Vegas, this guy walked into the hotel, this guy returned to his truck, and this guy ended up dead in the truck that exploded. This much seems pretty rock solid.

The motivation is now the big question.
