I believe the horn sound is from the purge movie and the its thiiiiird down is pretty common around all college football stadiums now. Along with the DJ music, etc. I know alot of us here are old school, but we also have to keep with the times. Not only does it effect fans, but also recruiting as well if an atmosphere somewhere else seems more fun or "cool" to those we want to play for usAbout “It’s thiiiiiiird down!” I wrote to the athletic department and told them I did not care for it. It’s tired, and the tolling bell started somewhere else. I opined that if they insisted on the third down thing, it should be something unique to Tennessee, like the baying of a blue tick hound. Now, Neyland has… whatever is that horn sound.

USCe (they're older than that California school) may play a cock crowing, but their football history reveals them to be capons. Georgia's mascot is a pitiable animal that could not survive in nature, nor would it have much of a chance against a bull. The unsavory behavior of Georgia fans exceeds their barking noises (they proudly sing about being drunk and obnoxious). The blue tick hound is a beautiful, useful hunting dog, and the sound of one in full throat is music to human ears and terror to the animal it seeks.I'd rather not be like USC jr with the animal noises personally and stupid Georgia fans already bark like a dog lol
Regardless of what others think...i miss hesring that and miss hearing him call the game.
I sincerely despise the IIIIIITTSSSS THIIIIIIRRRDDD DOOOOOOWWWNNNN
I guess thats the thing now as we hear it in every stadium. And it is as annoying to me in those as well.
