Like I've said a couple of times, that was one of the proposed designs that Adidas had for UT for this year. Based on everything I've been told, UT passed on that design long ago, but it was still in some retail catalogs.

I don't expect there to be any uniform changes this year. That's from a variety of people closer to the situation, I've been out of the state most of the spring and summer.

IF, and that's a BIG IF, there is a change to the Smokey Gray or an additional uniform, the alternates that Adidas has released for UCLA and Kansas have featured a chrome theme on the numbers and lettering.

I was in sports seasons this morning in my vols gear and had the manager walk up to me and say "you know you guys are getting new Smokey greys this season? " he said checkerboard sleeves and metallic numbering, said they were gonna have preorders on their site soon.
I wanted to cry because I think the new design on the greys is ugly as crap.

Sounds that way. I was really hoping we would stay with last years version but he said its a done deal, even telling me preorders would be available soon.
Kind of surprised they would go with a new one when Nike's taking over next season anyway.

It very well may. But I'll say this: Unless something significant has changed, there is a big difference between the artwork the local sales rep is showing retailers and what is actually going to be worn on the field.

I imagine if there is some mystery uniform floating around out there, I would think you would hear about it this coming week otherwise they'll hold it until game week.

If you wait until after this coming week any pub they would get would be buried under Opening Weekend, IMO.


(But honestly, it doesn't make sense that people within the AD say they're not aware of said mystery uni, while employees of various fan shops are the ones claiming to know what UT will wear and when...sounds like a mouthy Adidas rep or something)
