So, the paper trail isn't necessarily tied to the universities or coaching staff's, which means most likely nothing will become of this other than helping us get to a pay-for-play system sooner!

I'm calling T. Boone's bluff. He's drumming this up for obvious reasons.

Wouldn't surprise me. There's also the fact that the media WANTS to get players paid now and they're attempting to do just that by exposing how players are already getting paid. The problem is if that of you think things are corrupt now just wait until agents and boosters can give as much as they want all the time in the open. That's what was happening in Stillwater (they were a no name team in the middle of nowhere and so corruption operated in an open, ugly environment and on massive scale and sudden success eventually exposed it).

The NCAA needs fixing but we need to think about the nightmares that will follow before we decide the solution.

Oh please describe these nightmares.

Those who think paying players will do away with agents and boosters getting money to these kids are living in a dreamland. Paying players will solve absolutely none of the problems it says it will fix. Horrible idea.

If you are going to cheat or be accused of cheating and be caught relatively redhanded, now is the time to do it. The NCAA has been neutered of its power. Look at Oregon who got a slap on the wrist while USC got hammered. Not that I like USC but really? Reggie Bush's parents accepted money from an agent (Bush was never implicated directly) while Chip Kelly was stupid enough to leave a money trail by writing a check to a handler/agent. And Bruce Pearl gets a show cause for a BBQ, lying about it, and then a bump with a recruit? Really?!!? The NCAA is inept but worse, has been shown to have a huge conflict of interest when it comes to athletes and schools, and making money great sums of money off of that conflict.

Have him pay the $950. Suspend him for the South Alabama game and call it a day. No need to overreact. The NCAA has toned down their punishment to wrist slaps lately. Hell, they were investigating themselves for botching their investigation of Miami. They are currently a paper tiger.

Greed will always make this an issue no matter how much they do or don't get paid within the rules.

Just read this. LMAO
New report NCAA is investigating DJ Fluker from Alabama and 4 other SEC players from last year for taking improper benefits. Word has it they took free Johnny Manzel autographs without paying him.

It would have been better had the video matched the article below it. The video portrayed a scarier outlook for sure.

So what is the worse and best outcome of this?

Best: Couch repays and serves min susp.
Worst: Couch done here imo
No evidence UT knew anything or was not doing adequate job monitoring players activity, so nothing should come against university imo.

No evidence UT knew anything, benefited, or was not doing adequate job monitoring players' activity (Bray wasn't driving a MBenz), so UT is clean. Also, UT is protected by Alabama being at the center of it -- no way they pull Alabama's football license and send a messenger to pick up the crystal footballs. Re Couch, they demand he pay back the $950 and suspend him for the 1st half of the South Alabama game.
