New York City

Like I say, the victims are surely happy to know that.
What does the left always say about gun control? Oh yeah “even one death is one death too many”
OK, can’t wait for the histrionic threads about each other place with “even one death” then

Unless you went to a Michelin star place like The Modern, there’s generally even better food everywhere outside of those neighborhoods
Yeah, got some good middle eastern food down near the ferry terminal on the battery. And some good pizza in little Italy.
It is a good foodie town. Live the authentic delis too.
I do enjoy visiting. Couldn’t live there. Not because of the crime, just too crowded. Like a duck in a pen 😉

Fair, I see the point you were making

I enjoy both, I spent a lot of time on the Natchez Trace Parkway growing up and love NYC too
You just nailed my nostalgia button.
I think I might still get mail there......../s

From the restrooms & park center atop the small hill, down to the swimming section of the lake, and off on a paddle boat. I think I could draw a map of that lake from memory 30+ years later.

I can see it from your description. It’s also been 30 years for me.

Part of it is the fact that it is a death. Yes, these do happen. But I think the things that make this so incredibly newsworthy are 1) the horrendous nature. Immolation is a terrible way to go and 2) the way people in the area totally stood around and watched her die. Even a policeman seems to be pretty unconcerned as he walks right past. Maybe part of this is the fact that the Daniel Penny prosecution shows people that it is dangerous to help people. But the apparent unconcern among the bystanders is not a good look at all for the city.

It’s not a good look for the NYPD, specifically, but conservatives generally criticize everyone BUT cops

We feel bad for the cops in NYC because their political leadership has put them in an untenable position. If they actually try to stop a crime and injure it kill a minority or an immigrant, all heck breaks loose

The fact that you can see a cop standing and watching and go “actually this is someone else’s fault, I feel bad for that cop standing and watching” is proving my point exactly

And Eric Adams himself is former NYPD and will let them do whatever they want, as has Hochul, so this is complete bull****

True, Bragg and his minions are busy making sure the police are wasting their time and energy prosecuting people like Daniel Penny who actually try to protect people.
And statewide, Hochul is busy sending armed squads to households suspected of harboring illicit squirrels on five hour raids.

How many "major cities" have you been to in order to determine that all cities are "landfills"
I've been to the vast majority of them, and I'll confirm that he ain't wrong.

No if you are talking Tokyo, Seoul, Singapore or several in South America, they ain't **** holes. But pretty much all Democrat run cities in the USA are.

What’s in Barwick? I’m always up for a good titime.
My father-in-law makes a mean batch of Tabasco flavored boiled peanuts and his fish fries are over the top. It has since been filled in, but the Barwick pool was the place to be on Tuesday nights back in the 70s.

Not a lot of them, but all the girls were good looking.

Well the next time I’m down that way I’ll pick up a few cases of PBR and we will just have ourselves one hell of a time!!

I've been to an awful lot of them too and you're full of it, "Republican run cities" also are often worse
