I wouldn't mind him signing up with the Titans next year myself. I think eventually he would work out okay. Sooner or later Collins will be gone. Then what?

We all knew he would do this. The big question is if the fact that the NFL is either going to go on strike in 2 years or end up with a rookie salary cap for the future years is enough to make him choose to jump early rather than stay at UF as he most likely originally would have

Actually having to go under center probably isn't going to help his adjustment process.

Forgot about that. apparently he only has i think 1 touchdown from going under center. He's almost never back there and he will have to do it to play in the NFL

Wouldn't work out. Tebow's not going to be able to just run into guys in the pros. Even with his frame, he cant just keep smacking into guys of the NFL size and strength or he'll end up on IR real quickly in this league.

He'll have a few solid years, but I dont think that he'll work out as anyone's long term solution

I think the NFL will develop a role for him. What the role might be, I don't know. BUT I do know this, probably about 2-3 years ago everyone on here and everyone else said there is no way he can run 10-15 times against an SEC defense and stay healthy and not get too banged up. Tebow has done that. I think he will play a large role at multiple positions in the NFL because he is so talented and athletic. Just my humble opinion, but what do I know? I'm a Gator.

I think Tebow's going to make a fine fullback for some NFL franchise. And who knows, if he plays for a risky O-coordinator, they may work in some cutesy trickeration with fullback pass plays.

i see him more as a TE, but I can see a fullback type position as well. I'm just thinking like a Chris Cooley type player. If he could develop the crazy, over the top hilarious personality of Chris Cooley it will be even better

I never really have said in the beginning of his career he wouldnt be able to run against SEC defenses (though I have said he would get hurt some if he took most of their carries, but that's on a different topic about UF and runningbacks)

I'm going there along what they were saying about Vince Young before he went pro...about how he wouldnt be able to outrun the fast players in the NFL and would get hit if he tried to run and get hurt. The NFL players are at the peak of their physical performances in strength, speed, etc.
If they were talking about how a player is regularly going to get hurt trying to run by defenses, imagine what happens with a guy who early on - probably before he puts any more decent size on him too, which still might take a little time - decides he just going to run straight at them. He's going to get rocked pretty early on...just the way it is in that league.

Huge difference between any college defense and an NFL defense

Except for UGA in 2007 when he got hurt and was ineffective running the ball.

Tebow is one amazing talent. With the right coaching and situation he can be special in the NFL also. In the wrong situation he could end up back at the house in 5 years.

here's a stat for you........Danileson said that he went back and watched tape of all three years he's taken snaps at UF..........only 16 times has he lined up under center. less than, if ever, that he has ever run a play action pass.

That's astonishing. How is any pro team supposed to look at that body of work and even begin to project how he'd fit into their offense?

Here's another question. Let's say the immortal Tim Tebow wins a couple of national championships and a couple of Heisman Trophies....and then falls all the way to the fourth or fifth round of the pro draft because he's viewed as a project. How does Urban Meyer ever recruit another QB who has even a vague inkling of playing in the NFL one day?

yeah, i can see something like this as well.....sort of an H back kind of guy like him or Dallas Clark. but i can't see him developing in to a Pro Style qb over night and being successful.

eh, i don't think that will be a huge issue. Spurrier didn't have any problems after Shane Mathews and Danny Weurfil flamed out in the League. And Alex Smith's adventures didn't sway TEbow or any other QB they've landed to date.......

Since we're talking UF, has anyone heard a rumor that ND unofficially checked Urban's interest? I heard on a radio sports talk that this happened and Urban told ND to call back next year......

After Saturday he's going to run to the NFL and hide that is, after the beat-down he'll get on Saturday.

My guess is that, given his arm strength, overall athletic ability, and record of winning, somebody will take the gamble that they can teach him how to take three steps backwards and fake a hand-off before he throws.

Speed of release and ability to read and make decisions are much more valid concerns, and I really don't know how to evaluate that. I think it is fallacious to think that because he can run that he can't throw, or that because he plays primarily from the shotgun that he can't go under center.

These are similar complaints as those I heard about Vince Young, who went 3rd, and Alex Smith, who went 1st.

and both suck and are well on their way to respective bust status.

Perhaps, but they are both shining examples of NFL GMs willing to gamble on Tebow-like players by paying ginormous contracts to see if their games will translate to pro football.
