Seems like we are losing players, recruits and coaches. I can't remember a year like this before, except maybe last year. Must be Fulmer's fault.

Top 5 recruiting classes since '02

02': Texas, Tennessee, Georgia, FSU, and OSU
03': LSU, UF, USC, OU, and Miami
04': USC, LSU, FSU, Miami, and Michigan
05': USC, FSU, OU, Tennessee, and Nebraska
06': USC, UF, FSU, UGA, and Texas
07': UF, USC, Tennessee, LSU, and Texas
08: Alabama, ND, UF, OSU, and Miami
09': Alabama, LSU, OSU, USC and Texas

Past Champions since 03'

03' LSU
04' USC
05' Texas
06' Florida
07' LSU
08' Florida
09' Alabama or Texas

Ok so based on all those recruiting classes 14 teams are represented total. Five of which have won Natl. Championships since 03' giving you a 36% success rate of winning a championship every year if you recruit consistently. That means 64% (the majority) factor into what the athlete learns and coaching up the athletes. I'm going to out on the limb and say that of all the national champs I just listed all had coaches that are known to coach up talent and not waste it (except for Les Miles) his championship was because he got lucky with someone else's talent.

If you want to factor in talent alone then why havent FSU or Tennessee won a national championship since 03'. FSU especially, survey says.... Coaching!

one of the best posters on GQ put this together, very interesting

I think it was the bama game when he roughed the punter... though the next play was the ingram fumble so it got overshadowed

Is it just me or did Vinson give up some big plays? It seems every time I saw the ball flying his direction all he would do is chase the wr with his hands up. Never looked for the ball. No real instincts for the position.

Yeah, he gave up big plays to Ohio all night when he got his chance to shine. But...Ohio owned him pretty much every play.

Out of every class there are two or three than just don't pan out. That is if a coach is lucky. Many times it is more than that. last year's class is no exception. I hope we have better results in 2010.

Let them go. We want kids that are hungry.

it will free up schollys from the 85 limit... but this years limit of 25/28 (depending on who you listen to) will remain the same

But, especially with EE's, aren't we able to back count (have some scholly's count towards last year's numbers)- besides the fact I haven't seen yet- the EE's are anxious & excited to get into the system early.
When was the last time we were thinking we would have 11 or 12 EE's?

IIRC we can back count 2 EE's,
so we can sign 28 + 2 = 30
and enroll 25 + 2 = 27 for 2010, subject to the total of 85, of course.

Hope this helps. :hi:

I dont think Chris will go to UTC, hell prolly come back home to Carrol Co. and play for Bethel. He had planned on doing that last year, but I think he stuck around one more year because of the new staff. Hes got talent hes just a tweener, got too big for lb and hes an undersized de.
