Yeah just not a good offensive team. Why can't Tennessee just get good shooters? They seem to have one good shooter each year...one.

I don’t think they even have that. Take away DK and we’re in a 6-7 year stretch of timid, hesitant offense with no true shooters on the team. I don’t think guys become good shooters in college if they’re not good shooters in high school, and I don’t the CRB recruits shooters . . . his priorities are elsewhere. Either these guys aren’t offensive-minded players or they’ve had it coached out of them, probably a combination of both.

It's not about "learning". They are just thin and wearing down IMO. We've seen this over and over again with Barnes teams. They look invincible early then the fade begins as the conference takes it's toll. For him to go into a season with a short bench knowing how hard his teams work on defense is a real head scratcher.

They look invincible early then the fade begins as the conference takes it's toll. For him to go into a season with a short bench knowing how hard his teams work on defense is a real head scratcher.

Barnes obviously could not have predicted Estrella needing foot surgery and Carr up and leaving but leaving two open spots certainly was a bad choice in real time and hindsight.

Agree. We are not playing well but Kentucky had to shoot 50% from field and 3PT to squeeze out a win. Couldn’t believe we were as close as we were. 45 three attempts is coaching malpractice though when you’re not making them

This approach might have worked in the pre portal/NIL days, but now kids can move at will. Not saying you can't coach 'em hard, but you have to play them. It's the only way you build depth. Look at what Garner does with his DL. He "grows" depth. Barnes just banishes kids to the end of the bench and kids start shopping for their next home. I know stubborn is a thing with guys our age, but Barnes has taken it to crazy levels. I suppose once you have enough money and are near the end of your career, you just stop caring? Might just be his time.

So true, and why is ZZ still shooting he is in a horrible slump plus he was obviously hurting from the injury It's so embarrassing watching a visiting team on your home floor knock down threes and Tn can hardly hit the backboard.

Yep and consider the team that just beat us on our home floor. When Cal left, didn't a bunch of his players move along, too? Pretty sure UK came in with a rebuilt roster...and I'd almost bet they will be a higher seed in the NCAAT than we will.

Nah, 2-4. Lose the 3 road games and probably uf. It does appear the Vols were overrated. Got into conference play and reality set in. SAD.

At this point, double digit losses seem pretty much a lock. I can see 6 more very possible losses ahead.

Honestly, that proposition isn't nearly as scary in the new transfer portal era. UK and Vandy both just showed that it's possible to win with a team full of new players if you're a decent coach.

Note: I'm not saying that Barnes should retire or be fired, but he does need to reevaluate some things.

A lot of moron's in here. We lost by two freaking points to the number 1 team on the road and then played absolutely terrible against a top 10 team who was super hot from three and still had a chance to pull out a W.

This is the best the SEC has ever been and anyone with half a brain knew that this schedule was going to be a juggernaut to get through.

Anyone that thought that we would just simply run through this schedule and remain undefeated is delusional.

There's still a very real chance that we finish 6-4 and end up 23-8 with a chance to get another 2 seed in the tourney.
