This approach might have worked in the pre portal/NIL days, but now kids can move at will. Not saying you can't coach 'em hard, but you have to play them. It's the only way you build depth. Look at what Garner does with his DL. He "grows" depth. Barnes just banishes kids to the end of the bench and kids start shopping for their next home. I know stubborn is a thing with guys our age, but Barnes has taken it to crazy levels. I suppose once you have enough money and are near the end of your career, you just stop caring? Might just be his time.
