Next 6 games - We might lose them all.

I'm about ready to move on from Barnes. Could we do worse, ohh yeah...a lot worse, possibly.... but he isnt ever going to get us to a Final Four so what's the point?

Time to retire, Barnes.
If 16 years of Bruce Pearl and Rick Barnes can’t get us to a Final Four then it’s probably time to accept we’re never going to one.

It’ll be an unknown because that’s all we will be able to get.

It’s sad because before NIL and the transfer frenzy TN was positioned like never before to transition to possibly the best candidate in the country. Barnes was teeing it up for continued success. Now it’s going to be a near total overhaul of the roster.

We’ll still have a chance to land the overachieving, mid-major Sweet 16 coach - but they might be scared of the challenge and just use UT as leverage to get a better contract while staying in a mediocre conference.

Somebody similar to what a 40-something Pearl did at Milwaukee or a 30-something KO did at Marquette will probably be our ceiling for well known names.

At least Danny is a basketball guy that might be able to find and lure a not so obvious replacement that isn’t the Sweet 16 Flavor of the Day.

It doesn't matter what sport it is, every time after a loss there are a lot of over-reaction. And with the Baseball team being ranked high, after their first loss it will be catastrophic.

A name I’d keep an eye on is Bucky McMillan of Samford. He fits the mold of previous Danny hires. A young guy on a meteoric career rise from the high school ranks to D1 ball similar to Nate Oats.

They are 17-4 and average 84 points a game. Shoot 38% from 3 as a team. They gave Michigan State a competitive game in East Lansing.

Honestly, that proposition isn't nearly as scary in the new transfer portal era. UK and Vandy both just showed that it's possible to win with a team full of new players if you're a decent coach.

Note: I'm not saying that Barnes should retire or be fired, but he does need to reevaluate some things.
Where is BenardKingGoat jumping all over you all for stating the same point I did last week about this exact topic? Maybe he just doesn't like me and it is some personal vendetta.

A lot of moron's in here. We lost by two freaking points to the number 1 team on the road and then played absolutely terrible against a top 10 team who was super hot from three and still had a chance to pull out a W.

This is the best the SEC has ever been and anyone with half a brain knew that this schedule was going to be a juggernaut to get through.

Anyone that thought that we would just simply run through this schedule and remain undefeated is delusional.

There's still a very real chance that we finish 6-4 and end up 23-8 with a chance to get another 2 seed in the tourney.
Finally, a reasonable post and one that is very accurate. Even many of the more knowledgeable posters are melting down a bit. This game was always coming down to who shoots best.

Well, in the SEC, you MUST win your home games. That is the glaring deficiency; the Uk game was a must have. Vols can't score when it's imperative. Most every moron can see that.

We lost at home, but it took a 50% shooting performance from 3 to do so. I'm still fairly confident in the advantage we have in TBA.

I'm thinking 4-2 in that stretch. @ Kentucky and @ Texas A&M are the two losses.

The way we are playing right now, which of those 6 does anyone think we have a better than 50% chance of winning? Every one of those teams can absolutely beat us. Don't think we lose all 6 but I do think any of those 6 teams can beat us, even on our floor.
Florida. That is the must win to save the season. And the Gators had UK beat at Rupp, and let them off the hook. So, this game IS the season.

I think the game that was "the season" was last night. You can't let your biggest rival who was down 2 of their better players and a team that's just been okay this year come in here and beat you on your home floor. Especially after losing a rock fight to AU. It just looks like we are defeated right now. We have zero offense and last night our defense wasn't even all that great.

Gotcha Coach. What should he reevaluate? Just curious what you would do differently? I’ll hang up and listen.

Agree with you but they HAVE to shoot better! Defense is unquestionably elite! If I remember correctly, Edit: against Florida, they had made, I believe, 4 shots in the entire game at almost half way through the 2nd half. Is a recurring problem.

They are a lock for the tourney and it's all about getting hot at the right time. GBO!!!!

You know this might sound a bit crazy, but I love how we rallied last night when ZZ went out. Like everyone else I was certainly worried about him, but felt like it might be a jolt that continued into the 2nd half. I didn't think ZZ would be available in the 2nd and felt like we could win without him, LAST NIGHT. As it turns out ZZ missed a ton of open looks, probably because he was pressing too much. Just my $ 0.02
