Pretty sure we've discussed this before. Still think 8 wins is about right given the schedule.

If we are undefeated going in to Georgia game we could win that Nico is the difference maker and our d line should be elite… just if the secondary improves some
Absolutely believe this I don’t see UGA as unbeatable but they will be our toughest matchup… I think Nico is that special and if we can stay relatively healthy in the trenches we will have a chance to beat them…

8-4 would be a disappointment. We'll beat Florida and Alabama in Neyland. We'll be better than Oklahoma, though it is in Norman. Something tells me Coach Heup will have us ready for that game.

I still got us at 8-4. We'll lose to GA, play snake-bitten as usual against Florida, even down (yeah, like this year...not) Alabama will pull a rabbit out of their hat, and we'll lose to either OK or TX. I know Nico and Sampson looked really good against Iowa, but they will need help from their supporting cast. Given Iowa's complete lack of offense it was hard to gauge the defense, but last year our defense simply wasn't that good.

New season. New team. Nico era has begun. 5 star transfers are sliding in. The secondary just gave itself an enema. Alabama is imploding. FL is a **** show. OK and TX enter the fold. New playoff system.
How do we land?

I say we lose to GA and likely OK. Seriously on the bubble with the OK game. We have 3 tune up games prior to get ready but it's an away game.

I think FL and Bama are wins this year. Both home games. Both teams crippled. We've never failed to play down to our competition. Especially against Florida so anything can really happen in that game. But I think we actually destroy them at home this year.

We go 10-2 regular season. Make it to the new playoff. Get past round 1. Likely lose a close on in round 2.
10-2 is the floor with losses to Georgia and Alabama.
11-1 is the ceiling with a loss to Georgia.

9-3 before Saban’s retirement and now I’m at 10-2.

Georgia is still top dog, but I’m hoping on a qb performance closer to Hooker this year and an improved defense as I could be wrong, but I’ve got a feeling that most if not all the DB’s that left were encouraged to leave as they were recruited/Transfer Portaled over.

IF Nico is who we hope he is, puts on good weight, and stays healthy...

IF the rest of the team stays relatively healthy...

IF holding is called at a similar rate prior to pre-2023...

IF our secondary is more athletic than the past few years despite being younger...

...THEN I truly believe 11-1 is quite feasible.

@UGA is going to be tough.

We've outplayed Bama 3 of the last 4 halfs when they had the GOAT coaching; he's no longer there and been downgraded.

Oklahoma has been decimated this off-season. The scare there is their brand vs what team they will actually feild and Heupel's return vibes. However, one could argue he wants that game more than all the rest.

Florida is in Neyland and we will presumably be at full strength. Totally different than last year.

In short, there are many unknowns heading into next year. However, it is not hard to envision a scenario where we have the best year since '98.

I think the greatest likelihood of losses are at OU and UGA. I don't think the OU loss will "look good" by the end of the year. I don't believe they're as good as many give them credit because quality depth isn't really required for what they've been doing in the Big 12. I think they'll look worse as the season goes on... unfortunately the Vols get them early when they still think they're going to "prove a point".
Totally agree. The "prove a point" thing is real.
