Given the players coming in and the ones we will lose from this team, what should next year be in terms of wins, losses, and bowl game?

Next year we will hear..."You CAN'T expect to win playing ALL these FRESHMAN!"

And the wheels on the bus go round and round...

The plan is for that cycle to finally stop for good by 2015-2016. You can't expect to have stability after the coaching carousel we've endured.

If this year was an accurate reflection of this staff's ability to coach and develop players then look for 7 losses again or even the first 8 loss season in program history.

Six wins will indicate that the staff has done a much better job. More would be very impressive.

You can't just arbitrarily stop the coaching carousel. If you keep a guy who isn't getting it done then you've done no better than cutting a guy loose who might later get it done.

As with sooooo many of UT teams of past, we will once again have the talent on the field. The #1 issue is will the coaching staff recognize their strengths and weaknesses and coach the team appropriately? Fulmer lost that ability and so his demise was imminent.

For 6 wins, we have to get 3 wins from these six: USCe, Georgia, Missouri, Florida, Ole
23 year old 4 stars are better than 18 year old 4 stars unfortunately.
We will be good by the Bristol bowl- any success before that is Jucos and Butch Magic.

6 or 7 wins next season. Another 5 win season would be disappointing, but shouldn't be a surprise.

I'm looking at next season the same way I looked at this one. Six wins and a bowl game. Another tough schedule and a lot of young players will make it a struggle. At some point the coaching has to step up on a consistent basis and win a couple for us.

So when do you want CBJ and staff gone, if they don't get the job done?

Team 118 will be young but talented(?).

Who said anything about their talent or lack of it?
There very well could be a couple of game changing true freshmen next year, but to rely on the whole class being on that level is just a tad unrealistic.

Next year all we will hear is with all these freshmen players why are we not the NCAA Champs? You UGa fans need to stay on your boards. I wonder how you explain your loss to us in Athens next year?

After year three and no later than after year 4. Depends on when he sits on a "hot seat".

This will never change at UT unless instate talent gets much, much better... on the order of 20-25 4/5* players a year consistently... with most of them being from the N'ville area and east.

Right now, Jones is selling a dream. What does he sell if he has a losing record after 3 years and is squarely on a hot seat? It is the same for any UT coach. They have to win to stay off the hot seat because they can't recruit out of state unless they do.

Ride the wave for a few years. Imagine Bates, Hurd, TK and crew after spending two years is our weight room. Team 120 will magic. GBO!!!

BTW, Jones won't have the gift of a legacy class every year. He better take that good fortune and run with it....

Since at this juncture we don't know which players are "coming in" how can one project the season?? Until they sign LOIs or scholarship papers not sure you can count on them being here.

For example, if Lambert flips to Auburn that is one player that might make the difference in one game. they happen to not get any of the Juco players signed that is very significant loss..

Everybody knows the way to win...Change the coaches every year or two...That always works.

No. Next year all we will hear is excuses about depth and youth. It will be year three before most of you will be willing to question the quality of coaching.

Instate talent is on the rise as there are two 5 stars this year in Tennessee and CBJ has landed them both. And 6 or 7 of the top 8 players in state. There may not be 25 4/5*'s at the moment, but sooner rather than later there will be if the current trend continues. So far CBJ has had no trouble with out of state recruiting, even after a mediocre season... The guy knows how to recruit no matter the situation... And personally I think we'll continue to build on this year's class with more just as solid. After all, we already have a top 5 class for 2015.

I believe his ability to recruit top notch players will equate to success on the field, but not immidiately. I don't expect too much next year, but I do think we'll win at least 7-8 games in 2016. But even if that doesn't happen, getting him fired, having to pay him and his staff's buyouts, and starting all over again does not sound like it will equate to immidiate success either. We've tried it 3 times the past couple of years, and it hasn't worked out too well... Give the man time.
