It's not like they are required to provide proof, or that they must tell the truth. UGA knows know that Tennessee reported the 125 decibel figure for the Alabama game. This is known as one-upmanship.

I can accept that Bryant-Denny and Ben Hill-Griffin could be a little louder than Neyland ... but not Sanford & Son. No way.

Right. Because 131 dba is ridiculous. Frankly, we are probably fudging the numbers at 125 dba. Noise above 140 decibels can lead to acute hearing loss.

The way their stadium is configured just doesn’t lend itself to being as loud… doesn’t mean their fans weren’t as loud as they could be, but it is what it is.

Sorry, but Neyland Stadium wasn't louder before the addition of the north end upper deck in 1996 made it a fully symmetrical double decker bowl.
