UT hasn’t closed any dorm without more than replacing the beds that were lost. There are currently more than 1,000 more on campus housing beds than there were five years ago. UT is continuing to build new dorms to add to its capacity, but the school was also under pressure to increase enrollment, which did leave students in a crunch for housing after their first year on campus.
