Neyland Stadium Rocking - Gameday Atmosphere

These video's and this game showed that the fans are as hungry for a win as team 117. This game brought the team and fans together in a way they haven't been in a long, long time. Watching and screaming at my TV made me feel like I was there, and seeing Neyland that hyped up meant as much to me as a fan as what the team was trying to accomplish on the field. In my opinion this was a turning point for not only a historic program by a fan base. I really truly feel things are on the rise and I haven't felt that way for so long. Thank you to all the fans who can go to the games (as I can't) and cheering for this team and staying through the end. Keep it up, we are with you in spirit if not in person.

It was so loud against Florida in 98 the cameras were shaking, and when they did the decimal level, they said it was the loudest they had ever recorded. I couldn't talk for 2 days, and I couldn't hear correctly for almost a week

The only other game that I attended where the crowd was just rocking, and UT lost, was the 1990 ND game.

I'm sure there are others since then, but I don't choose to think of the good ol days with losses.

Love the video. You said "touched by strangers". :eek:lol:

hehe. I was touched by soooo many strangers. It almost felt wrong. :p

I took this video on a 3rd down sack of Murray. I don't think we had even tied the game at that point. Later when we went up by 7 late, the guy in front of me picked turned around and picked me up. The girl behind me kissed me.

Was just an amazing atmosphere.

I'll tell you one thing, that's the reason you go to games. You never get that feeling sitting at home.

Loudest I've seen in person: 1996 end of the game when Bama was trying to score a TD to tie the game. Awesome defensive stand. Pretty sure Freddy Kitchens had Leonard Little nightmares for years after the way #1 harassed him in that awesome game-ending defensive stand. No way a Bama player could hear in the huddle, much less audible at the line.

Thought I'd share this video i took from the game saturday. Neyland was the loudest i've heard it in 10 years. The atmosphere reminded me of why i fell in love with the Vols as a teenager. No pickering with fellow vol fans, no one yelling to sit down - a unified fan base that supported the team. It was amazing. I was hugged, high-fived, touched by more strangers saturday than my entire life combined. Here's to hoping Vol fans can continue that spirit moving forward. It's one of the things that makes our tradition so special. It reminded me that it truly is "Great to be a Tennessee Vol"

My goodness, that's awesome. I miss that. The place erupted after a sack, imagine if we stopped UGA on 4th down to win the game.

98 Florida was the loudest game I have ever heard, period...

In 98' against Arkansas, when Clint Stoerner fumbled the ball, and subsequently when Travis ran the ball in for the go ahead touchdown. THAT was the loudest I've ever heard Neyland! That was deafening!

finally getting my full voice back. the atmosphere where I was sitting (in the uppers) was off the charts... young and tall jumping up and down, high 5's all around,... need to turn up like that vs. USC as well... dadgumit.

I'd love to show these videos to the Oregon fan who told me in Eugene, "Welcome to the loudest stadium in the country" :eek:lol:
