This will be the 8th meeting in the playoffs between the Giants and 49ers.

- They are 3-3 head-to-head since 2001 overall.
- The Giants are 3-1 ATS while the 49ers are 1-3 in '11.
- ATS: favored the Giants are 3-0 and the 49ers 1-0.
- ATS: underdog the Giants are 0-1 and the 49ers are 0-3.

The 49ers are favored by 2. Who knows what's gonna happen in this one with the weather being total crap and forecasted to remain poor throughout the game. Should be one hell of a game regardless.

Let's go 49ers!

will be interesting

my dad used to have a theory about how hard it was for a team to travel 3 time zones and win a game...

think it really only applies to college FB though much more than the pros

I think that theory is a bit antiquated in the present game. The 49ers traveled east this year quite a bit and had a lot of success, only losing to the Ravens.

yeah, again I really think it only applies in college,

and at that only when you're going hard against the flow (a west team traveling all the way to the east coast...like, dunno, Cal traveling to Maryland to play a noon game - 2008)

49ers playing the run with not much help from the LBs thus far against the Giants effective short passing game.
