Smith was pretty one dimensional until this year. He showed a lot of improvement against the run and the ability to drop into pass coverage. 2 things that were holding him back from starting. Which is why I think he will start next year. Harbaugh wants playmakers on the field, and you don't get saved a spot because of injury. Smith will start next year. IMO
