I just heard on SC his official time was 4.33. Thats still DAMN fast considering he has power too. This guy is the next OJ.

At least on the field, anyway.

I think that it will be interesting to see over time who is the better back between McFadden and Adrian Peterson. As of now, I'll take Adrian Peterson.

There is no reason for the Dolphins to draft Darren McFadden. Obviously they could trade down for another team to get him. And more obviously just because the Dolphins shouldn't draft him doesn't mean they won't.

The Dolphins would have to be insane to draft McFadden. They need to trade the pick away. The question is will there be anyone looking to move up to #1? Dallas is the team that everyone is talking about moving up to nab McFadden. We'll see.

I would take McFadden because Peterson has gotten injured every year from college to now. It will be interesting to watch them in the future.

IMO Peterson is a more talented player than McFadden, but McFadden will go on to have a longer, more successful career.

i think it boils down to gets the injury bug. Using college careers as an indicator, obviously it appears McFadden will a longer, more successful career. Both are very talented, but if both can manage to stay healthy, I think Peterson would be considered the better back.

Yeah, but who really gives that a chance of happening? And it's not even a matter of freak injuries, it's because AD is out there punishing himself every game.

It may not be due to ability . . . McFadden apparently interviewed terrible and has significant baggage including 2 kids on the way by 2 different women and a pending paternity suit. If anybody is going to shy away from a situation like that, it's Arthur Blank.

Travis Henry has all kinds of kids. That didn't stop him from leading the NFL in rushing before his suspension. McFadden will soon have enough money to raise a kid in all 32 NFL cities if he chooses to do so.

Travis Henry was before the started caring about you off the field, wasnt he?

Kids should not considered "off-the-field issues"

I didn't mean it like that, I should have said that differently because it did indeed sound wrong...I meant comparing the "baggage" statement about McFadden's kids to Henry's kids...Does that make more sense?

i must admit i didn't watch the whole thing but the negatives on mcfadden he mentioned were a) small size, b) fumbles a lot and c) small lower body.

I definitely get what you're saying, i think. There's no way the Falcons don't throughly analyze every proper pick. Seeing McFadden with 2 kids on the way from 2 different women will definitely send up a red flag for the Falcons.

That's what will happen. Ultimately though kids and who the kid's mom is shouldn't matter when making a draft selection. Drug busts, felonies, police run-ins should matter, but not kids.

Small as in thin? He's 6'2", which is pretty tall for a RB.

And I agree with that, its drugs, felonies and those things that should matter...

The blurb in the AJC references the off the field stuff, but seems to indicate that it's more a concern that he interviewed poorly. Of course, he also ran a 4.27.

If anything height is a detriment for a running back. Guys that are between 5'10" and 6'0" can hide behind the linemen far easier, and they can also keep their pad level lower to give them better leverage. When scouts talk about size for a running back, it's their weight that they're talking about.
