NFL Draft Thread

The Chris Henry pick just befuddles me. Henry would have been avaible in the 4th or 5th round. We should have taken Steve Smith or Pittman, the RB from Ohio State

The first day for the Titans was disappointing but not as horrible as I originally thought.

1st round-Michael Griffin S
Decent pick here. I would have rather took Meachem. DB was a need as well, though. Apparently the GM thinks more highly of our CB situation(Hill, Harper, Finnegan, PacMan when he returns) than our safety situation. It was only decent because it was a need. It could have been much better had he went with Reggie Nelson or a couple others.

2nd round-Chris Henry RB
RB was a need, but I don't think it was worth a 2nd round pick unless it was a steal. Henry is a reach here. There were a few better RBs available here if it is a priority. He does have high potential, but I just don't see it panning out.

3rd round-Paul Williams WR
This may be the best pick for the Titans on the first day. He is a decent WR and a good ST guy. The Titans needed both.

Excactly. That was the stupidest move in draft history. Steve Smith is going to be a good receiver someday, we should have gotten him. If we were going to get a runningback Bush or Pittman or even Garrett Wolfe would have been a better option.

We aren't taking it as bad as The Miami fans on passing up on Brady.

Garrett Wolfe, not so much.

I'm just now making my way through this thread. Since you've been predicting Alan Branch as a possible pick since about the #8 pick of the draft, I'm assuming that you agree that he was an absolute STEAL for the Cardinals with the 33rd pick of the draft.

Absolutely. Top 10 talent at 33 is amazing.

I think the Raiders, 49ers and Lions are actually having good drafts. The Bears, Panthers, Cardinals and Falcons have potentially good first days.

On another note, who does everyone think will take Marcus Thomas? He has first round ability, just questionable judgment. He is in the similar mold of Eric Wright. He seems to be a guy the Titans would take, but I don't know if he'll be there. Some other interesting names to watch for are Brandon Siler, Antonio Pittman, David Irons, Rufus Alexander, Chris Leak, and Troy Smith. It will also be a day with a potentially high number of kickers/punters taken with Mason Crosby, Justin Medlock, Nick Folk, and Daniel Sepulveda available.

Yeah, I guess he will replace Mawae when he retires, I hope we use our next pick to get a DE. I believe we have 6 more picks left.
