NFL Game Thread

You mean having similar numbers of bandwagoners?

I mean that they play similar styles and both have swagger. Either people watch because they love said swagger or people watch because "those young whipper snappers need to lose because they aren't actin' right." The NFL probably loves polarizing teams like that.

Could have at least used the correct Carolina logo.

Also, where are these Panthers band wagoners you speak of? All the fans on this board have been loyal and active for a long time. I got my first Panthers shirt and hat before they had ever even played a game.

I didn't make it.

People were acting like Cobb was a top 10-15 receiver and he's not. Brown, Julio, Beckham, Green, and Dez are all better than Jordy. Megatron is probably better, Hopkins is close and Watkins will be in the top 5 soon.

This. I repeatedly heard people mention Cobb as a top 10-15 guy. I agree with Jordy except at this point I might take Jordy over Megatron.

Disagree. phoenix is a big market (2x charlotte) and growing fast.

I don't think it's that big of a deal to the NFL who plays in the SB. It's not like the NBA where individual stars, the biggest of whom normally play in the biggest markets, drive interest in the games. The SB is the biggest event on the American sporting calendar. People are going to watch regardless of the matchup.

I am thinking in terms of merchandise, mostly.

Who cares? The Panthers would draw a lot more interest and viewers regardless of market size. Houston is gigantic and the NFL would still prefer plenty of other teams over them. Same with the Jets

Not really about the market size.

The dream matchup the NFL would want with the current teams is Packers vs. Steelers, because of nationwide fan appeal. If they could choose before the season who would make the Super Bowl, it would be Cowboys vs. Steelers hands down.

I think Packers v Pats actually. Superstars at the level of Tom Brady play factor into this as well.

Roethlisberger has a sprained AC joint and torn ligaments in his throwing shoulder (day to day).

They're also not currently too optimistic on Antonio Brown as he's going through concussion protocol.

They wouldn't turn it down, but they base it on projected ratings and how popular the teams are nationwide. On the AFC side the Steelers are the most popular team, and on the NFC the Cowboys and Packers are pretty close.
