NFL Talent on this Team

I was under the impression we were talking about draft edible guys possibly leaving this year
Well the post was talking about lack of talent, compared to other teams we play. It doesn't take a scientist to determine we have more talent than acknowledged although most of it young. Eligible guys Mincey, Campbell, Small, Milton, maybe Keyton could get a look if he doesn't drop footballs. Defensively, Baron, Beasley, Hadden, O.Thomas, Eason could all get looks.

Pearce isn’t eligible for draft either. He is a true Sophmore. Spraggins and May likely stay along with Mincey. All could move up in draft with another year. GBO
I'm not seeing Mays, Spraggins, or Mincey on any draft boards. I would think a nice NIL number would keep them. Campbell is being projected 6th or 7th round.

Young talent and "guys who could get looks" by the NFL is not the same as upper class talent who will be drafted in high rounds. We do not have the latter. Count the Georgia guys on that list. Count the Alabama guys on that list. And by the way...they also have young talent to go with that upper class talent.

The point isn't to knock our team, but this shows what a great job the coaches are doing to have Tennessee where we are. And when Tennessee has top end talent throughout the roster (it's coming), we'll be among the elite.

I'm sure this is a longshot, but I wonder if Mays would elect to return a final year if he's not projected until the later rounds, if that? I think I read somewhere that he technically has one more season of eligibility if he chooses. Maybe they work a nice NIL deal for him to stay one more season and he works his way up?
Really think Coop doesn’t come back. Hope I’m wrong. He’s had a lot of nagging injuries and some more significant issues as well. Him, Baron, Thomas and Hadden will all be hard to replace.

I think that bodes well for next year. IF, and it's a big IF atp, Sprag and Coop come back, this line could be much improved, which is exactly what this O needs, especially when breaking in a new Qb.
Surprised Coop isn't on the list and Wright also Small.

Yeah we saw what not having him at center looks like. Frustrating that we don’t have a solid backup there. I don’t think they’ll have a choice but to search the portal this offseason for his replacement if he really doesn’t return.

I wouldn't go that far.

What we're seeing is the "recruiting cliff" from the Pruitt firing. Pruitt, in spite of cheating, recruited reasonably well his first few years. Heupel has also recruited well, but had a "limbo" period where it was tough for him to recruit because the NCAA investigation overhanging the school. So we're feeling the impact of that right now.

We have a lot of young talent on the offensive side. Our best WR right now is a true Freshman. But since most of our best recruits are young, it's difficult to be competitive with the top of the SEC. Heupel is doing a great job with what we have IMO.

So in a way, you're right, but I'd say more accurately, we just have a very young team compared to the top of the SEC.
Who is the True Freshman that is are best receiver?

Exacerbated by the fact they are competing against a lot of players in their 6th year of college football. I would expect the overall level of play in college football to decline once the Covid eligibility is exhausted.

Meh we are going to stomp those teams ass yearly if we ever get to the comparable talent level. No doubt in my mind Heupel out coaches Saban, Smart, Kiffin and Kelly. Not worried with Venables or Sarkisian either. Just keep stackin
