Nice photo op there Mr. President

Interesting that Obama started the conversation by complaining about her book.

I seem to recall him personally calling out the Supreme Court in a SOTU (another unprecedented move) with an exaggerated interpretation of their ruling.

Disrespectful?

Don't start none, won't be none.

You said "the TP in this thread". Still not following you.

All I was pointing out is how bad a move it was to chew the lady out on the Tarmac in front of cameras. Just didn't make sense.

Thought from context of posts itt that she confronted him.

Not according to the accounts that are out there so far. She greeted him, handed him a letter and he started in on her about how she characterized him in her book and the whole thing went downhill before he turned around and walked off with her in mid sentence.

Don't know what you are reading but she got in his face, pointed her finger at him, and he had enough of her antics.

Good for him for basically saying "F you, bit**."

how presidential

That's what you do if you are the leader of the country and some nagging shrew glory hog tries to put you on the spot as yet another cheap publicity stunt to mollify your far right loon base.

He's no dummy. She'll get hers, in the end. She just did a huge disservice to the people of Arizona.

Her insolence will not be tolerated!

Too bad this isn't Cambodia, she'd be put to death for insulting his highness

Her insolence should not be tolerated.

She is an embarrassment. I don;t care who you are or how right you might be. You don't go get yourself some press coverage by coming up to the POTUS and wagging your finger in his face.

I would say the same thing had someone done it to Bush.

It is beneath the dignity of the office (both of their offices) and it was cheap. Terribly cheap.

He was right to simply ignore her little rant.

if she had a come-at-me-bro moment, she embarrasses herself. it's embarrassing to the office of the presidency to lower yourself to that kind of behavior.

however, all reports indicate that he came at her. it's childish, and unbecoming of a president

Sorry but the POTUS lost this "battle"

Dead wrong.

This episode is emblematic of the far right's simple refusal to acknowledge Obama as legitimate. From the birther nonsense, to insinuating that he is a Muslim, to the whole Kenyan thing, to the food stamp president label, the far right has repeatedly galvanized around the hatred of the loons for this man.

Now they aren't coming to SOTU and then Brewer puts on her little show.

Those of you claiming to be patriotic and taking glee in this should be ashamed of yourselves as it belittles, not just the man, but the office. An office you claim to respect and representative of a country you claim to honor.

Obama is doing more harm to the office than any little argument in AZ ever could. He constantly takes shots at people, tries to hide behind the seal and then is amazed when people don't back down. Hate to use the phrase but he started it

Why would she wait at the steps of Air Force One other than to incite a reaction from him? Not agreeing with LG here, it just looks fishy. Definitely not handled well by Obama.

The people we elect belittle the office of presidency, so who gives an F if you accuse Brewer of doing so?

Did you scold the Dems for refusing to accept W as legitimate? From the election controversy (very similar to birthers, IMO), to insulting his competence/intelligence, to accusations of draft-dodging, etc? I highly doubt it.

You are as partisan as they come.

Oh, and it's pronounced Keynesian, not Kenyan. :hi:

did you see this report?

Not according to the accounts that are out there so far. She greeted him, handed him a letter and he started in on her about how she characterized him in her book and the whole thing went downhill before he turned around and walked off with her in mid sentence.

if she hadn't met him people like LG would be saying she disrespected him for staying in her office. She does, he starts in on her and she fires back.

I do find it hilarious that those worried about respecting the office say things like

Good for him for basically saying "F you, bit**."
